A new video of Chris Hemsworth hints at the return of Thor's old hairstyle for Thor: Love and Thunder. The actor reunites with director Taika Waititi for the God of Thunder's fourth standalone film following the success of Thor: Ragnarok.

Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, Thor: Love and Thunder will see how the titular hero has been ever since he relegated ruling duties of Asgard to Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie and embraced his warrior adventurer side more. Aside from his personal arc in the film, it will also tackle Jane Foster's return to the MCU and assumption of the Mighty Thor persona as confirmed when the project was first announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. Production for the MCU blockbuster has been going on in Australia since the beginning of the year after it was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. While set images have leaked throughout the last few months, the latest content from the film comes from Hemsworth himself.

Taking it to his official Instagram account, the Marvel actor posted a short video of him playing with his kid. The clip is adorable as his son dons his own red superhero cape like the God of Thunder, however, one notable detail from it is Hemsworth sporting Thor's old half updo hairstyle. This has people convinced that he's sporting it again in Thor: Love and Thunder. Check it out below:

After wearing his hair mostly down in MCU Phase 1, Thor debuted the style in Phase 2 and sported it until the events of Ragnarok where it was cut off. Waititi's first Marvel Studios film made a big deal about this change in his appearance as it went hand in hand with the character's personality haul, making him more humorous and sarcastic. On top of that, comic book legend Stan Leee was involved in the memorable scene as the barber. After that, he sported a shorter cut throughout Avengers: Infinity War transitioning to Avengers: Endgame. While he ultimately regrew it because of the five-year time-jump, it was styled differently.

It's worth noting that in previous Thor: Love and Thunder set images where the God of Thunder hung out with the Guardians of the Galaxy, Hemsworth wasn't wearing his hair like this. Instead, it was loose and seemingly shorter. It's curious what the return of Thor's old hairstyle means for his arc in the movie. While much has been revealed about other aspects of Thor: Love and Thunder such as elements of Jane's superhero story, his personal narrative has remained under wraps. Interestingly, the hero's old look isn't the only thing that's making a comeback; Asgard and Mjölnir are also teased to factor in the blockbuster after both were destroyed in Ragnarok.
