The cast of Thor: Love and Thunder continues to grow as more Guardians of the Galaxy stars arrive in Australia to begin filming. Following the reinvention of Chris Hemsworth's Thor in Thor: Ragnarok, Marvel decided to keep the character around. The events of Avengers: Endgame left him in a terrific position to still be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as he joined the Guardians of the Galaxy aboard the Benatar. While this could've been set up for Thor to be in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 at one point, delays to that film and the development of Thor 4 made it seem that the Guardians were likely heading for Thor's fourth solo film.

Vin Diesel, who voices Groot in the MCU, was the first to let it slip that some of the Guardians could be in Thor 4. This news was finally confirmed, though, when it was announced that Chris Pratt would return as Star-Lord. While Peter Quill is the only one officially reported to be in Thor 4, several other Guardians of the Galaxy cast members have been linked. Production on Thor 4 is taking place in Australia, so any MCU actor who travels there immediately catches the eyes of fans. Social media already provided clues that Mantis actress Pom Klementieff arrived in Australia.

Now, videos and photos shared by Daily Mail show other Guardians of the Galaxy stars arriving in Australia alongside Chris Pratt. The images and videos confirm Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, and Sean Gunn traveled with Pratt to Australia and will be part of Thor: Love and Thunder. Bautista will reprise his role as Drax the Destroyer, and Gillan will do the same as Nebula. The appearance of Sean Gunn, though, could indicate Rocket or Kraglin (or both) will be in the film.

Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor in Endgame

With this update, Thor: Love and Thunder is now set to include the entire main Guardians of the Galaxy roster. The only member that is not confirmed to be in the movie is Gamora (Zoe Saldana), but that isn't a surprise. She is not with the team at the end of Avengers: Endgame and finding her is expected to be a big plot point in Guardians of the Galaxy 3. It also gives Thor 4 an even bigger ensemble, as the Guardians join Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi), Lady Sif (Jaimie Alexander), and Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) as Thor's co-stars.

Now that all of the Guardians appear set for Thor: Love and Thunder, it remains to be seen just how big of a role they have. Fans have continued to debate whether or not they should have major or smaller roles in the film. As much fun as Thor's time with the Guardians has been on screen in the past, Thor: Love and Thunder has a lot of moving parts beyond their witty banter. The Guardians also have a third film of their own upcoming, which is said to end their story in the MCU. Their roles could be as small as an introductory set piece that ends with Thor departing the ship, or they could be with him throughout.
