New merchandise for Thor: Love and Thunder offers the first look at Jane Foster's look as Mighty Thor. Directed by Taika Waititi, the project will reunite him with Chris Hemsworth on the heels of Thor: Ragnarok's success. Announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, the project will be the first and only fourth solo film in the MCU.

On top of being another outing to Hemsworth's Asgardian prince, Thor: Love and Thunder will also mark the return of Natalie Portman to the MCU, reprising her role as Jane. But instead of simply being the primary love interest to Thor, the character will also assume her own superhero persona as Mighty Thor. Leaked images from the set of the film in Australia have shown the character in her civilian clothes, but not in her proper superhero attire. Fortunately, however, a new piece of merchandise for the film features an artwork revealing what she might possibly look like as the new wielder of Mjölnir.

The Thor: Love and Thunder piece of merchandise features an artwork with Thor, Valkyrie, and Jane's Mighty Thor lifting the magical hammer. Check out the photos below:

Based on the shirt, it appears Marvel Studios is primarily sticking to the appearance of Mighty Thor in the comics. Whether or not this is an indication that they will also closely follow her arc from Jason Aaron's popular Mighty Thor run from 2015 t0 2018 is uncertain at this point. However, the print narrative has been named as a primary inspiration for the film, at least when it comes to Jane's story. In it, Jane acquired all of Thor's superhero powers when she lifted the Mjölnir when the original Thor became unworthy. But every single time, every single time Jane transformed into Mighty Thor, her cancer worsened as the hammer purged her body all the toxins, which also included the radiation from chemotherapy. Portman previously hinted that her character's cancer storyline from the comics will factor in Thor: Love and Thunder, but she didn't get into specifics about how.

Filming for the Waititi-directed movie has wrapped up and is now in post-production, giving the director plenty of time to finish his cut before it hits theaters next May. Given that, expect that the first trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder is set to drop sooner rather than later. At this point, Marvel Studios is already ramping up promotions for their big-screen offerings as they will more likely stick to their current release slate. What's unknown is if trailers will debut Jane's Mighty Thor look or if it will be saved for the movie itself.
