A new promotional image from Marvel Studios' Thor: Love and Thunder features King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) sitting alongside Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). These characters are returning from previous installments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe — Valkyrie from Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame, and Foster from Thor and Thor: The Dark World. However, this will be their first time meeting each other face to face.

The upcoming MCU film will see the original God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth) at a stage in which he doesn't exactly know what he wants to do with his life after the events of Avengers: Endgame. His search for inner peace is suddenly interrupted when an intergalactic killer called Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) begins a quest to eliminate every god. Now, Thor must recruit his alien friend Korg (Taika Waititi), New Asgard's King Valkyrie, and his old flame Jane Foster/The Mighty Thor to help him defeat the villain.

Earlier today, DiscussingFilm's Twitter page released a new image that showcases King Valkyrie and Jane Foster sitting in what may be the Council of the Gods. They appear to have serious, attentive looks on their faces, and the room's architecture seems to be very royal. Check out the full post below:

The first trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder hit the internet about a month ago to a lot of high praise, hitting 209 million views within its first 24 hours. Featuring plenty of action and wild visual effects set to "Sweet Child o' Mine" by Guns N' Roses, it ended with a shot of Portman's return as Jane Foster, this time wielding a reforged Mjølnir as the Mighty Thor. Ever since the movie was announced during 2019's Comic-Con, fans worldwide have wondered how a human character like Foster came across this new power and how Mjølnir was remade. With a theatrical release set less than two months from now, a second trailer for Marvel Studios' next film should be dropping very soon.

With both Valkyrie and Jane Foster having different histories and chemistries with the God of Thunder, it should be fascinating to see how these two characters finally interact with each other. Of course, while the comedic banter should be all well and good, it'll probably be even more exciting to see how they work together in action. Perhaps the second trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder will show a glimpse of it.
