Thor: Love and Thunder has reportedly wrapped filming in Australia. The film is set to be the fourth film in the Thor franchise and will see the god of thunder facing off against Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher with star Natalie Portman returning as Jane Foster, who will become the Mighty Thor. Thor: Love and Thunder will also see various fan favorites returning, including Valkyrie, Sif, and the Guardians of the Galaxy.

The film started filming in January 2021 and is implementing the same technology used on the set of The Mandalorian and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Unlike most Marvel Studios productions which film in Atlanta, Thor: Love and Thunder has been filming in Australia and many of the on-set location shots have led to reveals, like Matt Damon's return and Melissa McCarthy's role as a stage version of Hela. Director Takia Waititi previously said that filming would conclude at the end of May, and it appears Thor 4 has finished on schedule.

In a post by hair designer Luca Vanella on Instagram, he notes that Thor: Love and Thunder has reportedly finished shooting in Australia. He received a signed gift from star Chris Hemsworth thanking Vannella for saving Thor's look as well as thanking him for his career. Vannella has worked in the hair and make-up department on every MCU film Thor has appeared in since Thor: The Dark World and has worked with Hemsworth on numerous other projects including Men in Black: International, Extraction, and In the Heart of the Sea. Check out Vanella's full post, below:

Vannella's contribution to Thor cannot be overlooked. The first Thor was a hit, but like with many film franchises, there were growing pains and the signature look for Thor still wasn't defined, with even Kevin Feige later regretting dying Chris Hemsworth eyebrows. Thor is a character known for his hair and in each of the films Vannella has worked on he has found a unique look for Thor; from the dirty blond color in The Dark World to cutting the character's hair in Thor: Ragnarok and his unkempt appearance in Avengers: Endgame. Clearly, Hemsworth and Marvel Studios are appreciative of the work Vannella has done for Thor.

With filming complete, Thor: Love and Thunder will enter the post-production phase, with reshoots most likely happening sometime later this year. While normally the studio would want to have something ready by July to bring to San Diego Comic-Con, this year the event will be in November on Thanksgiving weekend. With a May 6, 2022 release date, it's most likely a trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder will arrive sometime in November with Eternals or December with Spider-Man: No Way Home.
