Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) will be looking for a queen to rule Asgard with in Thor: Love and Thunder, and Jaimie Alexander just volunteered Lady Sif. Many would argue that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is long overdue for an LGBTQ hero, and as was confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con, Valkyrie is poised to be that hero. That development isn't really too surprising, as Thompson, who herself came out publicly as bisexual in 2018, had said previously that a scene was deleted from Thor: Ragnarok in which a woman was seen leaving Valkyrie's bedroom.

Being bisexual onscreen would also be true to how Valkyrie has been portrayed in the comics, where her sexuality has been specifically confirmed in the past. Thompson seems up for the responsibility of playing the MCU's first canonically bisexual superhero, and after her acclaimed performance in Ragnarok, there's no reason to expect she won't knock it out of the park. As Thompson revealed during SDCC though, now that Thor made Valkyrie the king of New Asgard, the king will need a queen.

In response to an article linked on Twitter speculating about the possibilities for Valkyrie's new love interest in Thor 4, a piece which included Lady Sif among the contenders, Jaimie Alexander herself offered an enthusiastic endorsement of the idea. Check out her post below.

Lady Sif has of course not been seen in an MCU film since Thor: The Dark World, although she did make a couple guest appearances on ABC's Agents of SHIELD TV show. Sif was originally planned to be in Thor: Ragnarok, but her schedule making the NBC series Blindspot wouldn't allow it. Following Avengers: Infinity War, Lady Sif was confirmed to have met her demise in Thanos' fateful snap. That ended up getting reversed at the end of Avengers: Endgame, so she's presumably alive and well again somewhere in the universe, ready and waiting to strike up a romance with Valkyrie.

While there are many reasons fans might want to see Lady Sif and Valkyrie pair up, one of the best is just how awkward it would probably be for Thor. The God of Thunder has shown romantic sparks with Sif, and the two were lovers in the comics. Even if that never occurred within the world of the MCU, the two remain close, and Thor and Valkyrie have also demonstrated both a great friendship and potential attraction to each other. The scenario of a bemused Thor watching as love blossoms between the two most badass women in his life is one brimming with possibilities, especially with Jane Foster also coming back into the picture for Thor: Love and Thunder.
