Thor: Ragnarok just released two new character posters during San Diego Comic-Con to hype up the Thor vs. Hulk battle. The new Taika Waititi-directed sequel continues to reveal new promotional material as SDCC takes place, and the next trailer could drop at any time. While the movie's domestic subtitle Ragnarok is much more subtle than its Japanese title, Mighty Thor: Battle Royale, both titles suggest a lot of epic battles ahead—particularly in the arena of Jeff Goldblum's Grandmaster.

One of the most hyped set-pieces so far from Ragnarok is a gladiatorial-style battle between Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and his "friend from work" The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), which is heavily teased in the first trailer. Hulk initially doesn't appear to care who Thor is in the fight, which could lead to one of the movie's most explosive scenes. Disney and Marvel Studios continued to hype Thor vs. Hulk with a pair of confrontational new Ragnarok character posters.

IGN revealed the new Thor and Hulk posters on its official Twitter account during SDCC on Saturday, July, 22,2017,  spotlighting the characters in their "gladiator" helmets and teasing their battle to come in the movie. The posters follow another new one revealed at the D23 Expo last weekend, showing Thor and Hulk in the midst of their fight. Check out the new posters below:

Ruffalo recently hinted that the new trailer, which could show more of Thor vs. Hulk, is on its way soon. It could still debut at Marvel Studios' 90-minute SDCC panel. In another Ragnarok poster revealed during SDCC, the titular hero battles the villainous Hela (Cate Blanchett) along with Loki (Tom Hiddleston). A third poster shows all of the principal characters grouped together, including Odin (Anthony Hopkins), Heimdall (Idris Elba), and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson).

Ragnarok's appearances at SDCC come just days after the movie wrapped its three weeks of reshoots. But nothing from the making of the movie has been built up more than Thor battling Hulk in the arena, which will likely make another appearance in the next trailer. Thor's gladiator armor has even popped up in a new Hot Toys figure and LEGO sculpture, the latter of which is on display at SDCC.

Thor's battle with The Hulk will almost certainly be action-packed, but it remains to be seen how it will fit into Ragnarok's greater storyline. It's also uncertain how the movie will fit into the rest of the Thor trilogy and the MCU, and whether it can continue what's been a great recent string of acclaim and box office success for the franchise. But with Waititi (What We Do In The Shadows) behind the cameras, Thor: Ragnarok has a chance to bring a fresh, exciting perspective to the MCU, regardless of how the Thor vs. Hulk fight turns out.
