NBC's This Is Us is easily one of television's most dramatic programs still on the air, and viewers essentially have to keep a box of Kleenex by their side when watching the show.
The soft and dramatic tone of This Is Us, however, presents a unique challenge when re-imagining this drama in a horror tone. How will the main cast stack up in a horror movie universe? Who will be the least likely to survive? Who will be the most likely to survive? It's fun to see how these questions will be answered, so lets' answer them and rank the cast of This Is Us as to who will least and most likely die in a horror movie.
Rebecca Pearson
The adoptive mother of Randall and the mother of Kate and Kevin, Rebecca Pearson is a strong woman who has persevered through a lot.
If she has her kids in tow, it's easy to see Rebecca doing all she can to protect them, but that protective nature is exactly what will make her the most likely to be axed in a horror movie. Sweet and protective people normally don't last in horror films, and Rebecca breaks that mold.
Kevin Pearson
Some may say that Kevin Pearson won't have the attributes to survive a horror scenario, but we beg to differ. Kevin carries some of the same protective bravado as Rebecca, and his experience as a dad will drive him to do whatever he has to do to survive and take care of his kids.
Kevin is a smart guy, and fans should be pretty confident that he will be one of the folks left standing in the end.
Randall Pearson
Randall Pearson is a smart person, and smart people are always in high demand in horror films, especially slashers and zombie films. Having a person with Randall's intellect will greatly up your chances of survival.
He'll be able to come up with ways to stay alive and avoid whatever the situation throws at them. Using his brain will help steer him away from danger, and keep him alive to see the other side of the situation.
Malik Hodges
The boyfriend of Deja, Mike Hodges has some of the skills needed to survive a horror film, but we don't know if those skills will allow him to actually be one of the last people standing.
More-than-likely, he will have to protect his girlfriend, which could be a mixed bag of sorts, given that his protective instincts will keep him alive, but if she dies or makes a wrong move, that could be the end for Hodges, which would be a total shame.
Zoe Baker
She is the ex-girlfriend of Kevin, which doesn't bold particularly well for her in a horror movie. For starters, because she's Kevin's ex, it would be extremely hard for her to ask for help from Kevin in an environment in which staying together is essential.
Having said that, there could be a chance that Baker could make it through a horror film. There's a good chance she may not survive, but at least she has a chance.
Madison Simons
Some may look at this list and question why Madison Simons, who is a mom of twins, is one of the least likely to survive a horror film over Zoe.
She is a mother of twins, and if they were in, say, a zombie apocalypse, there would be little doubt that she would have a hard time trying to keep it together while raising twins in a world gone mad. Her motherly skills would make her a great protector, but in the end, she would want to make sure her kids have a better life, so she may sacrifice herself to save the twins.
Miguel Rivas
The second husband of Rebecca and Jack's best friend, one could look at Miguel Rivas and think to themselves "hey, he could definitely make it through a horror movie," and you would be partially correct.
It's kind of hard to pinpoint, but we're not so sure that Miguel would be able to survive in the long run. He could be that wildcard cast member who either goes the distance or is picked off early. It's kind of tough to call, so he'll be slotted here.
Willam "Shakespeare" Hill
It was heartening for us to witness Randall finally meeting his biological father, William "Shakespeare" Hill, but let's not kid ourselves, Hill will not be among the living when it's all said in done.
In fact, he could very well be one of the first cast members picked off in a horror movie, especially if zombies are part of the deal.
Kate Pearson
Yep, the biological daughter of Jack and Rebecca will not be around to see the end credits fade to black. It's a shame, too, because she does have certain traits that would help in a horror story.
But thinking from a traditional horror format, Kate would be one of the first to die in a horror movie. It's just hard to see her making it that far in such unforgiving circumstances.
Sophie
She doesn't have a last name, which should be a major red flag right there. Sophie is a brief main character in the series before being reverted to a "special guest" role, and in the horror universe, special guests do not last long.
Sophie could last a good 15-minutes before she's killed off. Not Jada Pinkett in Scream 2 fast, but she's gonna be a goner pretty quickly.
Toby Damon
Ah, Mr. Damon, we hate to put you here, but there is something about his character that screens "he will die first." Like many of the characters, Damon does have the skillset needed to survive a horror film, but not everyone can survive.
Heck, not everyone can be one of the middle characters who die in spectacular fashion. Someone has to be the first kill in a boring way, and that person is Toby.
