With Captain Marvel in the rearview mirror, we're now mere weeks away from the release date of Avengers: Endgame (cue the squealing). To whet our appetites, Marvel just released a brand new trailer that reveals a lot about the film's plot. There are the obvious things the trailer hints at, like Tony Stark's return to Earth (finally!).

But there are some subtler clues hidden within the trailer that fans might have missed. For anyone who doesn't have the time to obsessively re-watch the teaser scanning for background details, we've got your back. Here are eight things fans might have missed in the latest Avengers: Endgame trailer:

On Earth, some believe Snaptured people are merely “missing”

In one of the scenes from the trailer, we see a confused Ant-Man walking through the streets looking at posters for missing persons. This indicates that at least some people on Earth aren't aware of the Snapture, believing those who disappeared to merely be missing.

It's a common trope in superhero movies for the mere mortals of Earth to remain unaware of the supernatural phenomena their heroes defend them against— but in the Marvel films, everyday citizens have been kept well-informed about the far-fetched things going on around them, from the Chitauri invasion to Tony's invention of Ultron. So, it seems unlikely that the people of Earth would be left in the dark about the actual fate of those who vanished after the Snap. It's possible that it simply takes a while for news of Thanos to spread. Or alternatively, some people could just be in denial about the Snapture. After all, a giant purple alien coming along and turning your loved ones into dust bunnies with a mere twitch of his fingers doesn't exactly scream "believable."

Given changing hairstyles, it seems we’ll be jumping around in time

Unless Black Widow has taken to sporting wigs, it looks like we'll be jumping around in time during Avengers: Endgame. In some of the scenes from the trailer, Natasha Romanov and Steve Rogers look the same as they did at the end of Avengers: Infinity War— Natasha has a blonde bob and Steve has a beard.

But later in the trailer, we see Nat with numerous different hairstyles, from long red hair to a pixie cut, and Steve's beard is MIA (please take a moment of silence). Although a beard can be shaved quickly, it takes a long time to grow hair out, so it seems likely we'll be skipping over large swathes of time during Avengers: Endgame.

Captain America is wearing his old uniform in one of the fight scenes

In Avengers: Infinity War, we saw Cap sporting the same suit he wore in Captain America: Civil War, but in the trailers for Avengers: Endgame, he's wearing one of his old suits. From Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the costume is the stealth suit he wore while leading one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s missions.

This seems to signify that Steve Rogers will symbolically take up the mantle of Captain America again in Endgame, a title he effectively walked away from after his feud with Tony Stark in Captain America: Civil War. There's nothing like half of all life turning to dust to help you return to your roots.

Okoye is notably missing from the New Avengers Facility

In the poster for Endgame, Okoye is one of the featured characters, which indicates that she'll be a main character in the film. However, she has been noticeably absent from any of the trailers, except in flashbacks. In fact, she's the only character featured on the poster who hasn't appeared in any of the released footage so far. Even Thanos had a brief cameo (well, at least his hand did).

Whatever her role is, it seems like she won't accompany the Avengers to the New Avengers Facility, and given that she wasn't seen sporting one of those white suits in the newest trailer, it's doubtful she'll be heading to the Quantum Realm with our other heroes. So, what will she be doing? Perhaps she'll stay in Wakanda, or maybe she actually is with the Avengers, just off-screen. Whatever she's up to, we have no doubt she'll be awesome in the film, as per usual.

Based on hairstyles, Captain Marvel seems to arrive on Earth just a little while after the Snap

As discussed above, it seems as if there will be some time jumps in Avengers: Endgame, with some of the film taking place in the aftermath of the Snap, and some of it taking place at least a few months, if not years later. The beauty of Natasha's changing hairstyles is that they serve as a marker as to when certain events in the trailer take place, like a fashionable time stamp.

In one of the most hyped scenes in the trailer, Thor decides that he approves of Captain Marvel (because who wouldn't?), and nearby is Black Widow— who's sporting the same blonde bob from Infinity War. This seems to indicate that Captain Marvel will arrive on Earth only a little while after Thanos's Snap.

Nebula is suiting up alongside the Avengers

Most of the main characters who got dusted were either newer Avengers or characters from Guardians of the Galaxy, leaving the original heroes from Phase One of the MCU to clean things up in the aftermath of the Snap. However, there are a few newer superheroes who survived Infinity War, with Rocket and Ant-Man showing up numerous times in the trailers for Endgame. It seemed obvious that these two would fight alongside the Avengers to help undo the Snap, but seeing Nebula suiting up with our heroes was a bit of a surprise.

After all, she was stranded in space the last time we saw her without hope of rescueplus, she's been something of a villain during the other MCU films. But she, like everyone else, lost loved ones during Infinity War (well, maybe loved one— Gamora), so we can understand her desire to join the fight. Additionally, given her torturous upbringing at his hand, she has more reasons than most to hate Thanos (and most people have a heck of a lot of reasons).

Red was a central theme in the flashback scenes

Most fans probably noticed that the flashback scenes at the beginning of the trailer were shown in black and white. But there was one noticeable theme in all of the clips— red was highlighted. No one knows for certain why Marvel chose to do this, but it could be for any number of reasons. Marvel's logo is red, so the red color could be an ode to the mother company. Or alternatively, all of the red could be hinting that the Reality Stone will be important in Endgame (that's the red one, for anyone who somehow hasn't memorized all the colors of the Infinity Stones by now *rolls eyes*).

But what seems most likely is that red symbolizes death and mourning, similarly to how, in The Sixth Sense, red showed up whenever someone had been affected by the world of the deadAlthough most of the deaths in Infinity War weren't all that bloody (these are PG-13 movies, after all), red is a color everyone associates with injury— and it's no secret the Avengers are hurting right now.

The new suits probably mean the Avengers are going to the Quantum Realm

In the most epic scene from the teaser, we see the Avengers walking through the New Avengers Facility in brand-new, shiny white suits (in slow-motion, of course). The most talked-about part of this scene is Tony Stark— he's officially back on Earth, which means he and Nebula will somehow get rescued from deep space. However, the suits themselves are an even bigger hint as to what will happen in Avengers: Endgame.

They look suspiciously like newer versions of Hank Pym's Quantum Realm suit from Ant-Man and the Wasp, which means the Avengers will probably head into the Quantum Realm to try and mess with time to undo the Snapture. Whatever it takes, right?
