As many expected, 2019's The Game Awards was packed with surprises and major reveals, but one game that got gamers very excited was none other than the re-reveal of Telltale Games' The Wolf Among Us 2. Much doubt was cast on the status of future projects after Telltale Games officially closed its doors in 2018, apparently having gone bankrupt in the wake of lacklustre sales and poor management. While the company gamers know as Telltale is gone, investors did swoop in and save the defunct studio's brand alongside several projects – officially relaunching the developer in the process.

Since then, fans have been waiting on pins and needles to see if some of their promised projects would return from the brink of cancellation. Properties like Game of Thrones, Batman, and even the seemingly scrapped Stranger Things were big contenders, but players were hoping that one of the most well-recieved games from the company would recieve its long-awaited second season. Evidently, that game, The Wolf Among Us, will have its day in the sun yet.

During The Game Awards this year, host Geoff Keighley pulled the curtain back on what was thought to be the dead The Wolf Among Us 2. While details are still scarce, it would seem that something is seriously wrong in Fabletown and Bigby Wolf is going to have to get back up to his monstrous old ways if he's going to save it. Of course, given the constant struggles between beast and man that players witnessed in the first season of the game, these themes are hardly surprising.

While an exciting reveal, fans didn't recieve much more The Wolf Among Us 2 info outside of the fact that it's now in development. Gamers aren't even sure which platforms it will be available on, but there's likely hope amongst fans that one of them will be the newly-revealed Xbox Series X. No, the Telltale sequel probably won't need the extra power to run, unlike the gorgeous Hellblade 2, but it would still be nice to have the option for players hoping to make the hardware upgrade.

It looks like the rebooted Telltale Games is getting back into the swing of things too, with Batman Shadows Edition also being revealed just ahead of The Game Awards. Here's hoping that more news drops on The Wolf Among Us 2, as this project could very well end up being the deserved followup that fans have been pining over for years now.
