The new Next-Gen Update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt features many elements from Netflix's series. With the conclusion of Henry Cavill's lead role as Geralt of Rivera came the need for a sign of respect for all his passion and dedication to the show. Hence, CD Projekt RED incorporated several Easter eggs within the game.

One of the elements includes a new side quest that is similar to part of the plot in the television series. Another next-gen feature in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt includes Cavill's actual dog. His dog's name is Kal, which is ironic because Cavill also played the role of Superman in several DC movies, including, but not limited to, the Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

How To Unlock Kal The Dog in The Withcer 3

Henry Cavill Geralt the witcher game

Kal is relatively simple to find; however, players must first complete The Witcher 3's new side quest, "In The Eternal Fire's Shadow." This quest is initiated by talking to the Eternal Fire Priest located at the Devil's Pit. The priest will have Geralt navigate through an abandoned mine. After negotiating the exchange of services with the priest, Geralt will be tasked with killing whatever creature or people are haunting the mine.

With a lantern or torch, players will need to follow the path along the poorly lit mine. Players are encouraged to investigate any notes or corpses they see along the way to collect more information about what beast is to come. Note that Plague Victims may attack Geralt at any time during his movement, especially in larger rooms than a hallway.

Players will then stumble upon double doors that enter Reinald's prison. It is recommended that The Witcher 3 players meditate and replenish any necessary items for combat before entry. Next, players will be required to free Reinald using Aard. At this point, Geralt will realize that the newly released prisoner is possessed, hence players will be required to fight Reinald. Because Reinald uses a combination of sword and sign attacks, the best way to defeat this boss would be to swiftly attack after deflecting an enemy attack. Once Reinald is defeated, the Red Miasmal will leave his body, and the second phase of the battle will be initiated. During this phase, players are encouraged to use a combination of light and heavy attacks. Note that this enemy will send out smaller Level 14 enemies that produce a higher-ranged attack.

Once a good ending is achieved in this Witcher 3 quest, Cavill's dog will appear outside of Devil's Pit. Note that Kal will not immediately appear outside the abandoned mine. Instead, he will be found there a few days later.

CD Projekt RED incorporated a unique feature in the Next-Gen Update that honors Henry Cavill's passion during his time as Geralt for Netflix's series The Witcher. His dog, Kal, known to be on or within close distance of the set, was turned into an Easter egg in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
