The Walking Dead is nearing the end of a very long season 7. Last week, Rosita and Sasha ventured off to Savior country in search of a little vengeance for their mustachioed friend and they got more than they bargained for. Sasha made a rash decision that put her smack dab in the middle of a firefight with Negan's men, while Rosita found herself in a confrontation with a shadowy figure bearing a remarkable resemblance to Daryl – though who among the Savior's has an odd obsession with the crossbow-wielding biker's personal aesthetic?
With so much action packed into the final five minutes of 'The Other Side' that presumably means a straightforward, propulsive hour of television with 'Something They Need'. There's no reason for it not to, as The Walking Dead has several ducks in need of a row before kicking off what is being touted as a very satisfying season finale. As the fates of Sasha, Rosita, and possibly Eugene are decided, Rick and his crew must finally gather enough guns to get the Junkyard kids to come play tag against Negan and his Saviors. That's a lot for one episode to handle, but as the series demonstrated with last week's episode, give the show too much room to wander and wander it will. With any luck, The Walking Dead is prepared to fill up every minute with some energetic storytelling.
If you want to discuss the happenings of 'Something They Need' this is the place to do it.
The Walking Dead concludes season 7 next Sunday with 'The First Day of the Rest of Your Life' @9pm on AMC.
