Steven Yeun (pronounced "yun") was born on December 21st, 1983 as Yeun Sang-Yeop. Though his family moved from South Korea to the United States when he was young, Yeun has humorously commented that his parents did not begin to call him "Steven" until they met a doctor by that name.
Proceeding their move from South Korea, his family settled in Troy, Michigan, and Yeun continued to live there until he graduated high school in 2001.
