During The Voice season 19, Ian Flanigan has been a favorite among the judges. Last month, the full-time musician wowed the panel with his blind audition performance of Zac Brown Band's "Colder Weather." Now, he's a contestant on Blake Shelton's team, and The Voice fans want to know more about his background.

Prior to his reality TV debut, Ian worked as a full-time musician. He toured the country in his RV. While speaking with the judges at the blind auditions, Ian shared information about how he makes a living. "My name is Ian Flanigan. I'm 30-years-old and I'm currently living in a motor home," he shared. He volunteered these details after John Legend asked him to introduce himself to his new coach, Blake Shelton. "I'm touring full-time with my family," he continued.

He popped the big question to his girlfriend only a few weeks before his The Voice debut. The singer showed off his fiance and her new diamond ring in a heartfelt Ian Flanigan Instagram post. "This beautiful woman and I are getting married," he shared in the caption. "No luckier man on the planet. Looking forward to the rest of our lives," he added. The proud father often shares photos of his life on the road with his daughter and bride-to-be. "Life on the road," he captioned one photo of his fiancé and daughter. Other photos with his family show them in Texas, the Midwest, and the canyons. The family "Flanivan" is documented on the singer's YouTube channel. In addition to his performance of "Colder Weather", Ian has received praise from The Voice judges for his recent battle against singer Aaron Scott. Ian earned Blake Shelton's respect as they performed Creedance Clearwater Revival's "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" together. "With Ian, I felt like it was so much identity and character in your voice," Shelton said. John Legend agreed. "The rasp, the gravel, that was more compelling for me. I would lean toward Ian more if I were Blake," Legend said. John was less impressed with Aaron Scott. Blake went on to select Ian as the winner of the battle, further solidifying his position in the vocal competition.

Prior to appearing on the show, Ian spoke about his unique sound and how he tries to control his raspy voice. "I guess it is very raspy at times," he shared. "I try to not be too raspy." The Voice judges would probably disagree, and might even say there's no need to fix what's not broken.
