Kelly Clarkson is currently a coach on The Voice and recently opened up about her "horrible" divorce from talent manager Brandon Blackstock.

Kelly Clarkson has been in the spotlight for almost 20 years. She was the winner of American Idol season 1 in 2002. Since then, she's turned her singing skills into true stardom. Most people now know her as one of the coaches on The Voice and as the host of The Kelly Clarkson Show. However, many don't know that Kelly Clarkson married her now-ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, in 2013, after less than a year of dating. The former couple share two children: River Rose, who is 6, and Remington Alexander, who is 4. After seven years of marriage, Kelly and Brandon filed for divorce in June of 2020, and things didn't go so smoothly. Brandon allegedly asked Kelly for $436,000 a month in spousal and child support, after the singing star won primary custody of her kids.

With all the messiness of her divorce in mind, Kelly has revealed that the hardest part about her divorce is seeing it affect her kids. On The Kelly Clarkson Show, she elaborated by saying, "It's horrible. There are so many hard parts. The hardest for me is the kids... I always think as women, we’re trained to take it all on and you can deal with it and you’re fine. But it’s your babies that you worry about." She also spoke to Extra about her kids' well-being. She stated, "We have a lot of help as far as therapists or child psychologists because we want to do it right. I definitely want to do it right… everyone’s sad — and it’s OK to be sad."

Kelly Clarkson from The Voice has been candid about her divorce, and she had more to say on her talk show last week, as she talked with guest Fran Drescher. She told Fran that one way she's trying to move on is by moving into a new and peaceful home. Kelly said that her new house is clean, with a white palette. She enlisted the help of one of the members of her art department on The Kelly Clarkson Show to help her create a calming space. She told Kevin from the art department, "I need to feel cleansed.’ I just wanted to feel happy..." Kelly said her new space does make her feel a lot better.

With a successful, caring mom like Kelly, plus lots of good therapists, it seems like her kids will be able to learn to accept their parents' divorce. By admitting that the worst part of the split is worrying for her kids, Kelly from The Voice shows how good of a mom she is, as she clearly puts her kids first.
