Kelly Clarkson has become a mainstay coach on The Voice since joining the series in season 14, and with such a powerful voice and successful career, it's no wonder that she is such a well-respected coach on the show. Kelly's mainstream career started all the way back in 2002, when she auditioned for American Idol, gained the love of both the judges and the fans, and went on to win the first-ever season of the series. Since then, Kelly has released chart-topping singles, sold millions of albums, toured the world promoting new music, and topped Billboard charts.

As fate would have it, however, Kelly Clarkson went on to join The Voice as a coach, and she is keeping her red chair as season 21 returns to NBC later in 2021. Thus far, Kelly has coached three singers to win The Voice: season 14's Brynn Cartelli, season 15's Chevel Shepherd, and season 17's Jake Hoot. At this point on season 19, Team Kelly has the most contestants still left in the competition: Corey Ward, Gihanna Zoë, and Kenzie Wheeler. Alas, some fans may not realize just how many albums Kelly Clarkson has sold over the course of her career.

In total, mainstay The Voice coach Kelly Clarkson has sold 25 million copies of her albums. She has released eight studio albums - 2003's Thankful (3 million copies sold), 2004's Breakaway (8 million copies sold), 2007's My December (1 million copies sold), 2009's All I Ever Wanted (1 million copies sold), 2011's Stronger (1.3 million copies sold), and 2013's Wrapped In Red (1 million copies sold). Her two most recent releases in the age of music streaming have been 2015's Piece By Piece and 2017's Meaning Of Life. On the Billboard Hot 100 chart, Kelly has three #1 hit songs: 2002's "A Moment Like This", 2009's "My Life Would Suck Without You", and 2012's "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)".

Unfortunately, when it comes to her personal life, Kelly Clarkson filed for divorce from her husband Brandon Blackstock in 2020. Brandon also happened to be Kelly's manager, making matters even more complicated for them to deal with. With the divorce proceedings moving forward, Kelly won custody of her two kids with Brandon, who are both still young children. In front of the cameras, Kelly is experiencing a career-high as a mainstay coach on The Voice and as the host of her own daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show.

As Ariana Grande joins The Voice as a coach for the first time in season 21, she will be featured alongside co-stars Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, and John Legend. From the looks of it, there is a chance that Kelly could coach yet another singer to win The Voice season 20. However, it is still a bit early to predict that with certainty.
