Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are finally engaged, and The Voice judges announced their engagement on social media on Tuesday, after five years of dating. Their proposal comes one week after Stefani shut down breakup rumors that were surrounding the couple.

Stefani and Shelton first met on the set of The Voice season 7. Two years later, the couple went public, following Shelton's divorce from singer Miranda Lambert and Stefani's divorce from singer Gavin Rossdale. Fans enjoyed watching the two The Voice coaches flirt on the show, up until Stefani's brief hiatus last season. Some wondered if the two were still together after Stefani opted out of The Voice season 18. Following her return for The Voice season 19, the couple has taken their romance to the next level.

The two chart-topping artists took to Instagram on Tuesday, October 27 to announce their engagement. The “Sweet Escape” singer Gwen Stefani was the first to share the happy news, with a photo of the couple kissing. In the pic from her Gwen Stefani Instagram, she was showing off her shiny new rock. “Yes please,” she captioned the photo. Shelton reposted the photo with his own caption, “Hey, @gwenstefani thanks for saving my 2020… And the rest of my life.. I love you. I heard a YES!” A source revealed that Shelton popped the big question earlier this month in his native Oklahoma, according to Us Weekly.

While appearing on the Today Show last week, Stefani revealed that she and Shelton are still together and continue to delay their wedding. However, she assured fans that, "the good news is that we still like each other a lot. That's good." The couple spent the duration of quarantine together at Shelton's Oklahoma ranch. The country singer previously expressed how Gwen Stefani helped him heal following his July 2015 divorce from fellow country singer Miranda Lambert, “When I was going through my divorce and just, you know, hit rock bottom". Shelton shared these thoughts with Willie Geist on Sunday Today in June 2018, as per US Weekly. "It’s a miracle that I met somebody that was going through the same exact thing that I was at the same exact moment in time,” Shelton added.

The two musicians each divorced the same year. Stefani from The Voice split from husband Gavin Rossdale in August 2015 after 13 years of marriage (and years of dating during her No Doubt days). She and Rossdale share sons Kingston, 12, Zuma, 10, and Apollo, 4. It remains to be seen if she and Shelton from the singing reality competition plan to have children now that they're engaged.
