Gwen Stefani returned to The Voice season 19 and encountered a lot of young talent. This season saw many teenagers audition for the show. to try and get a chair turn and then be a part of a coach's team. One standout from the blind auditions was 14-year-old Carter Rubin from Long Island, New York. During his audition, he sang "Before You Go" by Lewis Capaldi. He got a chair turn from Gwen Stefani and John Legend. Ultimately, he chose Gwen as his coach and advanced to the battle rounds.

When he introduced himself after his audition on The Voice was shown, viewers got to learn more about the teen and his family. Carter Rubin has an older brother Jack, who was diagnosed with autism at the age of two. When speaking to the coaches after his performance, he shared that he and his brother are very close and that he couldn't ask for a better bond with his brother.

On Carter's Instagram page, the singer shared many photos with his brother Jack, including a recent one wishing his brother a happy 19th birthday. In the post, Carter writes, "happy birthday to my best friend. thanks for showing me what kindness, compassion and love looks like. you are seriously the best brother i could possibly ask for. enjoy being 19, you old man!" According to Parade, despite being the younger sibling, Carter told viewers that he was more like the older brother in the relationship. There is a four-year age difference between Carter and Jack. The siblings have done concerts to raise awareness for autism and those who have been diagnosed with this developmental disability. While viewers don't get much information regarding Carter's family during his time on the show, he has given them an idea of how close he is with his brother by talking about him to the coaches. The Voice challenges singers to prove their worth, take direction, and achieve their best. Carter is mature for his age, so it's safe to say his mindset is impressive. He's also a nice family person who inspires fans with his kindness and values. Fans hope that he'll make his dreams come true on the show. It's a competitive environment.

So far, so good. He blew the coaches away during the Knockout Round. This young The Voice contestant has such a bright future ahead.
