Luther Hargreeves, the leader of the Umbrellas, had a lot of growth over the season, although he's still prone to making the same kind of mistakes he did before. Luther's Mission
Luther has always been proud of himself, especially since he was made the leader of the Umbrellas by his father, Reginald Hargreeves. After being critically injured and transforming into an ape-like creature, Luther was sent to the moon by Reginald in order to give him a newer purpose in life.
Luther takes pride in his solo mission and has always tried to bring it up in any conversation with his siblings. This meme perfectly depicts Luther whenever he talks about his time on the moon, although his siblings should give him a break as he felt lonely and isolated in the four years that he was on the moon.
Luther Is A Big Softie
In order to save his life, Luther was administered a serum that transformed his body into taking up a simian-like appearance. In some ways, some fans found it comical that Luther had a small head on top of his bulky body.
Most times, Luther tried to hide his body by wearing a huge green overcoat. The meme shows that underneath all the muscle and fur, Luther is a big softie who loves his siblings and tends to be overprotective of them.
Luther's Got Some Moves
After being left with a cliffhanger on the final episode of season 2, fans of the show were excited to see how season 3 of The Umbrella Academy would start. But instead of an all-out battle between the Umbrellas and the Sparrows, fans saw the two opposing sides engage in a dance battle instead, starting with each team's Number 1s: Luther and Marcus.
It was soon revealed that the elaborate dance performance was due to Jayme's cool power which is hallucinogenic venom and was only happening inside the mind of Diego.
Luther And Allison
Viewers of the show who weren't familiar with the comics were taken aback when it was shown that the Hargreeves siblings Luther and Allison had something romantic going on between them. In fact, the two even danced and shared a kiss together after the siblings were brought back due to the death of their father.
The meme just shows how ludicrous it was that Luther has feelings for his sister Allison. However, the timeline was soon reset, which cleared the tender but absurd moment between Luther and Allison.
There's An Apocalypse Happening Again, Luther
Despite fitting the mythic archetype of the Hero due to his strong desire to do the right thing, Luther is also prone to being selfish and self-absorbed. During the third season of the show, Luther was aware of the Kugelblitz and its implications but was focused more on planning his wedding with Sloane.
However, fans should be reminded that Luther spent four years on the moon by himself. So even if he is depicted as a love-struck character in the meme, Luther knows that he deserves a chance to be loved.
Luther And Sloane
Luther cannot escape the allegations that he tends to fall in love with those related to him. Sloane is one of the new characters introduced in season 3. As a part of the Sparrows, Sloane has the same father, the same robotic mother, and the same chimp teacher that Luther has.
After the Sparrows kidnapped Luther, both Sloane and Luther bonded over their similar upbringing. This soon turned into a full-blown romance between the two, although fans of the show made fun of the couple's dynamic, seeing that Luther has a beastly body and powers while Sloane is as sweet as a princess.
Luther Can Be Too Much

As Reginald Hargreeve's golden boy, Luther can be extremely proud of his achievements which include being the designated number of the Umbrellas, his solo mission to the moon, and being extremely dedicated to his father's cause.
However, some fans couldn't take Luther's overbearing personality. What's more, it is shown that he's also extremely flawed, gullible, and naive. Using a meme from the show It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, a fan expressed their feelings towards Luther whenever he appeared on the screen.
Luther And Viktor
Viktor changed their name from Vanya on the third season of the show. In the show, the siblings Viktor and Luther felt some sort of kinship as they both felt more lonely and isolated compared to their other siblings.
Luther isn't the most emotionally receptive character in the show. The meme makes fun of Luther's choice to knock Viktor out and trap them in an isolation chamber, inadvertently causing Viktor to panic and cause the apocalypse.
Luther Lives In Denial
In one scene from the show, Five describes what would happen if a person gets too close to themselves in the same timeline. The first thing that happens is denial that they're not suffering from the deadly time disease.
It just so happens that the Umbrella's Number 1 is Luther, which the meme has also pointed out. In a lot of ways, Luther is always in denial of a lot of things, from the supposedly important moon mission that his father instructed him on doing to his feelings for Allison. Luther's fervent denial and naivete make him an unlikable character in the show.
Luther And Diego

Unfortunately for Diego, he was designated as the Umbrella's Number 2, which makes him subordinate to Luther. Diego always expresses his discontent with this and tries to step up whenever Luther falls short.
But Luther always stands firm in his father's decision to make him Number 1, which has made him loyal to his father up until his death. The meme from the movie Captain Philips shows that Luther was always ready to rub his ranking in the group in his brother's face.
