With the third season of The Umbrella Academy at an end, fans have had the chance to bear witness to three consecutive apocalypses caused by the Hargreeves family. If fans are starting to get tired of the endless array of armageddons, they're not alone. After all, Five certainly feels the same way.

The strictest and most experienced member of the Umbrellas, Five has certainly been through a lot, and all he wants is a vacation. While he can never get that, he's earned a vast collection of memes that have summed up his character extraordinarily well.

Familial Love

While Five isn't exactly the most pleasant person to be around, it's hard to deny that he still loves his family. After all, part of his fight to preserve the planet has been about preserving the other Umbrellas, even if he can be incredibly strict with them — if strictness sometimes means threatening to kill them.

Five's talk with Viktor in Season Three certainly proves that, while he's willing to do horrible things, he still cares for his family. No matter how much they frustrate him, he's even still willing to take road trips with Klaus and introduce him to his mother, just because Klaus is his brother and Five cares. It also helps that, while only comic fans know it, Five and Luther are fraternal twins, and that certainly helped tie them together closer.

A Little Stressed

Five is a genius surrounded by awkward superheroes who couldn't make a plan if their life depended on it. After years as an independent adult, it's incredibly frustrated for him to be once again surrounded by adults who never really outgrew their time at the Umbrella Academy.

To make matters worse, the family rarely actually communicates, which can mean that Five's plans are often thrown awry. Instead of working with trained professionals like he's used to, he's left trying to wrangle six family members who don't know a thing about time travel, and it certainly stresses him.

Been Through A Lot

While there's a lot of depth to Five, most of it falls into these three categories: A man who loves a mannequin, a professional assassin, and a cocky man who thinks he knows better than everyone else in the world. The latter of which certainly fits, considering he probably does.

Most of Five's most iconic quotes showcase his apathy towards everything around him, as he works his way through whichever apocalypse he's faced with. He's a determined man, thanks to his time as a contract killer, and his cockiness works with that determination to make him a truly impressive fighter and thinker.

A Honed Killer

The Umbrella Academy has the best fight scenes, and Five tends to take part in each of them. With powers that lend well to both defensive and offensive fighting styles, Five does an excellent job of taking on multiple threats at once, as he tears through his enemies.

Though it's unlikely he'd ever truly be caught as the meme depicts, he's killed his fair share of people, and it's left his mark on the world. Throughout history, Five has been slaughtering at the Commission's directive, so if he ever is arrested, he'll have a lot to answer for.

A True Professional

It's hard to look at a scrawny teen like Five and spot a professional assassin. But, as this meme showcases, each time fans consider Five an innocent, they're horrifically surprised to see him brutally slaughter the Commission or take on enemies without breaking a sweat.

Five knows how to use his abilities to his advantage, and it's how he became such an experienced killer. He isn't the sort to bow down to a threat, and he isn't an angel either. While Luther might hesitate to kill, Five rarely does, and it's how he ended up the brutal man he is.

In Love With A Mannequin

While it's an unpopular opinion that Dolores should have stayed in the show, it's hard to deny the effect she had on Five. After the apocalypse, she was all he had, which helped him get through survival in the horrific wastes of the post-apocalyptic world. Five may not have survived without her.

Yet, Dolores' presence helped contribute to the wacky tone of the show. There are few sights stranger than a decades-old man trapped in a teenager's body kissing a mannequin. While it's certainly weird, it helped establish Five's character by giving him a strange and grounding element.

Doesn't Have A Name

While the Umbrellas were all assigned numbers by Reginald Hargeeves, most of the Umbrellas and all of the Sparrows eventually picked names of their own. It was an effort to prove that they were individual people with wants and needs of their own.

Five, on the other hand, decided not to bother. He chose to stick to his assigned name all his life, and it's something almost everyone around him accepts. Though it's never been outright explained why Five kept the number, it's likely that he just didn't care to change it to anything else, which is a fairly Five move.

Won't Stop For Resolution

Five is a man who doesn't like to wait around and do nothing. At least, not unless he's on vacation. Throughout the show, he has stepped from apocalypse to apocalypse without ever having the chance to have a week or two to rest his head between global annihilations.

So, whenever his siblings get together to bond or relax, Five is always there to interrupt and remind them that there's an apocalypse to get to. He's interrupted Diego, Klaus, and even Luther and Allison on numerous occasions. It certainly doesn't help that he avoided the show's initial dance scene.

Genius

Five is a genius, and Klaus is a living wreck. While Five works his way through problems with careful thinking and consideration, Klaus often does it by pointing out whatever is hidden in plain sight that his brothers and sister and missing. Regardless, they both tend to find solutions. Regardless, they're both often ignored.

No matter how many times Five urges his family not to mess with the timeline, they always find a way to throw things into disarray. Luther locks Viktor away, or Allison makes a deal with Reginald, or Viktor destroys the world. Either way, if the family would just listen to those two, the show would be one season long, and they'd all be on a permanent vacation.

Over-Confident

No one can ever really say that Five isn't arrogant. With an ego as big as his brain, he tends to ignore the advice of all those around him and work on his problems solo. Though he certainly loves Viktor and the rest of his family, he isn't particularly a fan of waiting around for them.

With that in mind, Five definitely thinks he's better than the other Umbrellas. He may not be as adjusted to the 21st century, but he's certainly the smartest, and his powers make him the most versatile of the group. It also helps that he spent the least amount of time under their father's command, which helped him stabilize himself better — even in a dystopia.
