WARNING: Major spoilers from Zack Snyder's Justice League below

Zack Snyder's Justice League does bring in Green Lantern and while there are two of them, it's not the ones some would have expected. The Snyder Cut brought multiple iconic DC Comics' superheroes together with Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, The Flash, and Aquaman. Even Martian Manhunter gets his neat, and important, introduction, even if only for a few scenes. However, a member that is absent that was supposed to be part of the team was Green Lantern and it turns out, Hal Jordan and John Stewart were actually originally meant to be present in the film.

While neither John nor even Ryan Reynolds's Hal was in it, Zack Snyder's Justice League still managed to include other members of the Green Lantern Corps. One of them was already confirmed to be in the Snyder Cut, to establish the director's original vision of the History Lesson. However, as they do include an Emerald Knight to represent the past, another surprise Green Lantern does get a cameo to foreshadow the Knightmare future. These are the two Green Lanterns in Zack Snyder's Justice League and what happened to them.

Yalan Gur

While not one of the more famous Green Lanterns, Zack Snyder's Justice League introduces Yalan Gur as part of the History Lesson story. Even though he was in the theatrical cut and had a similar fate, it's how he dies and by whom that is the biggest difference. When Uxas (before he became Darkseid) tried to invade Earth, Yalan joined the humans, Atlanteans, Amazons, and the Olympic Gods to stop the forces of Apokolips. Despite Uxas being defeated and having to retreat, he does end up killing Yalan and even slices off the hand that wore the Green Lantern ring. The ring is almost captured by Uxas but manages to escape and start looking for a new Emerald Knight.

Kilowog

But while a Green Lantern fell in the past against Apokolips, there was apparently another one that would meet a similar destiny in the future. When Cyborg has his vision of the Knightmare timeline, he sees the deaths of Wonder Woman and Aquaman at the hands of Darkseid. However, a familiar figure is seen in the decimated remains of the Hall of Justice. While the Anti-Life Equation-influenced Superman is floating in the air, Kilowog's dead body is seen on the ground, thus introducing another Green Lantern into the Zack Snyder's Justice League universe. It's unclear when Kilowog died as well as at what point he came to Earth to try and stop Darkseid's conquering of the planet.

This marks the second live-action Kilowog following the 2011 Green Lantern film that had the late Michael Clarke Duncan portray the beloved Corps trainer. Kilowog, who will be one of the main characters in HBO Max's Green Lantern series, is now the second character that Snyder has introduced into his franchise, while also originally having plans to use Hal and John, too. If Zack Snyder's Justice League 2 and Zack Snyder's Justice League 3 were to happen, it would allow Snyder to further explore the Green Lantern Corps as he was obviously wanting to do with Zack Snyder's Justice League demonstrating that clearly.
