The Swan Princess trilogy began with the first film in 1994 and has since become a beloved fan favorite. Given its many adventures, its love story, and of course, its obstacles (notably in the form of villains), there are plenty of moments in which the characters must summon up their courage, utilize blind faith, inspire themselves and others, and for Derek and Odette, express their love to one another.
From Derek's quotes expressing his love for his wife to Uberta's faith in comeuppance and Puffin's tendency to motivate others with the phrase "no fear!", there are plenty of inspirational quotes that the trilogy has to offer.
"I'll Prove It To Her! I'll Prove My Love."
After seriously messing things up between him and Odette in the first film, Derek regrets his answer to Odette's question of whether beauty is all that matters to him, and he's struggling to find a way to make up for his mistake.
While talking with Rogers and Bromley, it comes to him, and by the end of the film, Derek more than proves his love, as he searches tirelessly for Odette, proves to her how far he'll go to save her, and makes a vow of everlasting love to her.
"Don't Worry, Odette. We'll Find A Way To Change You Back. There's Got To Be A Way."
In the second film, Derek's assurance to his wife in the above quote is inspirational because it's not in his nature to give up. No matter what obstacle they face, Derek never gives up; he and Odette are each other's rock.
They especially needed each other because things looked pretty bleak considering at that particular moment, no one had an idea as to how to turn Odette from a swan back to a human. Derek's faith is everything, and sure enough, there was a way to turn Odette back, and it even brought Jean-Bob back to life too.
"You Just Can't Keep A Good Woman Down."
While an inspiring quote, it's ironically said by villain Zelda in the third installment of The Swan Princess trilogy. Zelda's happy with herself after having posed as Odette and tricked Derek into handing over the last missing piece of Rothbart's notes, and says the above quote.
While it's an inspiring line given its positive message about not allowing anything to keep someone down, things didn't turn out that way for Zelda, and she was far from a "good" woman, given she tried to kill Odette and intended to use the power to destroy. Karma caught up with Zelda when she herself was later destroyed.
"And With Your Love I'll Never Be Alone..."
While apart due to Odette having been kidnapped by villain Rothbart in the first film, Derek and Odette sing "Far Longer Than Forever", their love song.
The above quote is a lyric from the song and a powerful one at that. Derek and Odette's love is true, unbreakable, and powerful, as they sing about their bond, and the fact that no matter what, they are always with each other, even if they're not physically in the same place. The above quote is an inspiring lyric that goes with an inspiring love story.
"The Whole Kingdom's Wrong. Odette's Alive, And I'm Gonna Find Her."
Despite the fact that King William has died following Rothbart's ambush, and the fact that the entire kingdom believes Odette is gone too, Derek refuses to give up the search for her.
No matter what anyone says, Derek knows that the love of his life is still out there and needs his help, his determination showing in the above quote.
"You Don't Do It Now, Odette, You've Lost Your Chance For Life."
When Odette declares she can't land on the lake to change back, fearing that Derek will kill her as he is unaware that she is a swan in the first film, Puffin offers her this inspiring quote.
Puffin had a point; had Odette not taken the chance, she and Derek may never have gotten to be together again, and she'd probably still be under Rothbart's spell. Puffin's words can certainly be applied as a life lesson to just about anything, especially when it pertains to taking chances that may never come again.
"Whatever It Is You Have Planned, You'll Never Get Away With It, Because You Are A Bad Person And Bad People Stand No Chance Against Good People, Like My Son Prince Derek!"
Uberta was certainly not the hostage that Clavius had intended in the second film, as she ordered both him and his lackey, Knuckles, around relentlessly and demanded a proper setting and celebration of her fiftieth birthday. In fact, she frequently annoyed Clavius, and clearly, he was happy to be rid of her.
Instead of being afraid upon learning she'd been tricked and kidnapped, she was instead furious and the above quote is one of the many things she said to Clavius during her time in captivity. Uberta knew he wouldn't win, and it's always a good thing to see the villain lose and for a happy ending to come through.
"No Fear!"
Throughout the trilogy, "no fear!" is a common phrase said by the main characters, especially Puffin. Puffin says this particular quote to Derek in the second film, as Derek is about to go out to search for the culprit who's been setting fires and asks Puffin to follow the culprit.
"No fear!" is good advice, especially when bravery is called for. Odette, Puffin, and their friends often find themselves in dangerous situations, and this phrase motivates them to take risks for the greater good.
"No, Much Longer Than That, Odette. Much Longer."
When Odette asks Derek following their marriage ceremony if he'll love her until the day she dies in the first film, the above quote is Derek's sweet response. Their love really is true and meant to be.
That kind of love is special, and like Derek says in the above quote, will last much longer beyond death; in fact, it's a forever kind of love. His sweet response is a beautiful start to their marriage and shows how wonderful their relationship is.
"I Can't Do That. So Long As You're Here Odette, There'll Always Be Magic."
In the ending of the third film, the above quote is Derek's response to Odette asking him to promise her that there's no more magic in the castle. His response is sweet, thoughtful, and romantic.
After having lost her for a moment, Derek is more than happy to have her back, especially since his initial refusal to destroy Rothbart's notes is what caused the entire mess to begin with. Their ending is happy, with many more adventures to come, and their love as strong as ever.
