Fans of Jenny Han's popular young adult novels were thrilled with the Netflix adaptation of To All The Boys I've Loved Before, and season 1 of Han's trilogy The Summer I Turned Pretty is now available to stream on Amazon Prime. Han has just signed a deal with Amazon studios, according to Deadline, which is great news as fans will get to see more of her stories on the small screen. The story of Belly, her love triangle with Conrad and Jeremiah, and her love of the beach town Cousins is highly anticipated.

While Jackie, who plays Belly's mom Laurel and Rachel Blanchard, who portrays Conrad and Jeremiah's mom Susannah Beck, don't have Instagram, fans can follow the rest of the cast of The Summer I Turned Pretty on Instagram.

The Amazon Prime series is a TV show dealing with the teen experience and Minnie Mills plays Shayla, Steven's love interest who also befriends Belly.

According to Mills's IMDb page, this is her first role, and Shayla is a significant part of the series as her relationship with Steven allows the show to examine love, wealth, and happiness as they come from different financial backgrounds.

Belly and Steven's father and Laurel's ex-husband John shows up in one episode for the Fourth of July celebration at the beach house, something that matters a lot to both Lauren and Susannah's families.

In the book series, Belly hints at how distraught she has been at the fact that her parents are no longer together. John's character allows the series to delve into the reality of co-parenting.

Every young adult novel and TV or film adaptation needs a good love interest and Cam and Belly start dating this summer in Cousins. Since Belly has eyes for Conrad still, and she has always loved him, this creates some fun and interesting tension.

Cam is smart and makes Belly think carefully about whether she can leave Conrad behind and really explore a relationship with him. Belly's romantic life is as juicy and entertaining as some of the best young adult love stories.

Belly's best friend Taylor is described in The Summer I Turned Pretty book series as a fun-loving, friendly, and confident girl who always gets what she wants.

Taylor is a compelling contrast to Belly and shows that sometimes, Belly wants to be more like Taylor and take a risk and have an adventure. But other times, Belly is fine being herself and feels like it's tricky and stressful when Taylor visits the beach house. Belly and Taylor's long-term friendship is sweet yet complicated, and it's easy to see both sides of every conflict that they experience.

The Summer I Turned Pretty cast member's previous role was Kevin on the mysterious TV drama Manifest. Sean Kaufman plays Belly's older brother Steven.

Steven is trying to have a great summer, balancing dating Shayla and working at the club, and he's also loyal toward Conrad, Jeremiah, and Belly. Belly sometimes gets frustrated with how much Steven teases her and still thinks of her as a little kid. This is a relatable and interesting dynamic that is a significant part of the series.

When Laurel first meets Cleveland at a charming bookstore in Cousins, she isn't thrilled with him as he's a bestselling literary author and she finds him pretentious. Since Laurel is promoting her new book this summer and feels it will be a soft launch, she's a bit envious.

The first book in The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy doesn't include Cleveland as a character, so it will be interesting to see how Cleveland and Laurel's connection grows.

The Summer I Turned Pretty is a sad teen romance adaptation based on a book, and the TV show does a great job moving on from the source material and adding a few things, like Belly's debutante ball, while still staying true to the heart and soul of the story.

While there is one heartbreaking storyline throughout the books and TV show, Jeremiah's character remains sweet, friendly, fun, and entertaining throughout both. Belly appreciates how kind Jeremiah always is.

Young adult novels and adaptations often have a brooding character who feels things intensely and doesn't often talk about his feelings and experiences and Conrad is that person here. It's hard not to become invested in him immediately and wonder what he's thinking.

Tom Everett Scott (@tomeverettscott) - 45.1k followers

Tom Everett Scott is best known for starring in That Thing You Do, one of the best comedies from the 1990s, and he plays Susannah's husband and Conrad and Jeremiah's dad in The Summer I Turned Pretty.

When Adam shows up for the Fourth of July, he surprises his family, and secrets and hidden emotions start to come out. The adult characters are just as compelling as the young adults on this series.

Belly is determined to have an awesome summer, and while she wants to move on from her long-term crush on Conrad, it's definitely tough when there is a lot of romantic tension between them.

Viewers are drawn into Belly's story right away, as Belly is kind, smart, and endearing, and the fact that she wants to grow up and feel more confident is relatable.
