The Suicide Squad star Steve Agee has been pictured posing beside a life-sized wood carving of his character, King Shark. The 53-year-old actor portrayed the DC villain on set in conjunction with Sylvester Stallone, who provided the CGI character's voice. In addition to King Shark, Agee also played the secondary character of John Economos, an A.R.G.U.S. agent working under Amanda Waller (Viola Davis). Economos also features prominently in the HBO spinoff series Peacemaker.

Conceived in the 1990s by Karl Kesel and Tom Grummett, King Shark principally served as a comic book adversary of Aquaman. Enrolled into the so-called Suicide Squad in later stories, the character was one of several chosen to be depicted in James Gunn’s live-action movie alongside the likes of Harley Quinn, Peacemaker, Bloodsport, Ratcatcher 2, and Polka-Dot Man. Released in 2021, the film followed the misfits of Task Force X on a secret mission to infiltrate the dictator state Corto Maltese and destroy a giant alien lifeform known as Starro the Conqueror.

Now, a fan under the username proud_squirrel has shared a picture of Agee posing beside a life-sized wood carving of his Suicide Squad character. Created as part of Washington State Summer Con, the wooden King Shark statue impressively rivaled Agee’s 6 feet 7-inch frame and featured intricate details including individual teeth and defined pectorals. An obvious fan of the DCEU, proud_squirrel posed alongside Agee and her creation wearing a Harley Quinn-inspired shirt. Check out the post below:

A frequent collaborator of Gunn’s, Agee has already expressed his readiness to reprise the role of King Shark in any future spinoffs, citing his enjoyment of working with co-stars Idris Elba and Margot Robbie. As one of the few characters to survive the events of The Suicide Squad, the possibility of King Shark’s return remains on the table, particularly amid the success of Gunn’s Peacemaker series, which generated newfound fan interest in the DCEU. Though no specific updates have been given regarding the character’s future in the franchise, Gunn has already hinted at the potential return of other Suicide Squad members, including The Thinker (Peter Capaldi), despite his suffering a bloody death in the 2021 picture.

While Agee’s chances of returning in future The Suicide Squad sequels might be high considering his character’s survival, Gunn has so far indicated that any new feature films with him at the helm are on the back-burner while he prioritizes television work. Though King Shark’s complex background could make him a desirable addition to any future films or television spinoffs, there seem to be no immediate plans to return him to the DCEU. Despite this, with the second season of Peacemaker already given the green light, Agee will likely soon be seen reprising the more human character of John Economos.
