One movie that just may sneak up and become a hit this holiday season is the new Jonah Hill comedy, The Sitter. There are some who don't go for Jonah Hill's style of awkward-meets-vulgar comedy, but general reaction to the the first red band trailer for The Sitter was positive, and on the whole, the movie actually looks like a good time. That is, of course, if the idea of seeing a very R-rated version of Adventures In Babysitting appeals to you.
In The Sitter, Hill plays a foul-mouthed loser college student who gets roped into babysitting his neighbor’s kids. But of course what starts out as a routine job - cursing at and bossing around kids who are equally unruly and vicious - turns into a single-night adventure, including tangles with cocaine dealers and other dangerous street thugs. Brought to you by David Gordon Green, the man who directed Pineapple Express.

Again: this looks like one of those enjoyable all-in-one-night comedy/adventure flicks, in the vein of Date Night or Blind Date. Only, you know, a lot, lot, lot more crude, and with kids thrown in the mix for good measure.
Personally speaking, I'm all in.
The Sitter will be in theaters on December 9, 2011. Will you be seeing it?
