The Secret Garden released its first official trailer, displaying a powerful use of CGI-enhanced color. This is the fourth attempt at a cinematic adaptation of the 1911 novel written by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The first adaptation premiered in 1949 starring Margaret O'Brien, Herbert Marshall, Dean Stockwell, and Gladys Cooper. Two remakes followed, the first in 1987 and the second in 1993. Additionally, a musical version of The Secret Garden premiered on Broadway in 1991. Now, the film will grace the big screen again in the United States on April 17th, 2020, in what appears to be the most magical rendition yet.

The Secret Garden's official trailer, posted to YouTube, brings viewers into a magical world. This is the first adaptation of The Secret Garden to take advantage of how far CGI has evolved, and the first trailer is an apparent attempt to entice audiences with the film's gorgeous visuals. The trailer follows Mary Lennox's journey moving into her uncle's house and discovering the secret garden. While there is voiceover dialogue throughout the video, one can't help but focus on the scenic shots of the children playing in the colorful garden.

The Secret Garden reboot stars Dixie Egerickx, Kingsman star Colin Firth, Julie Walters, Edan Hayhurst, and Isis Davis. Director Marc Munden is renowned for directing period dramas, including The Crimson Petal and the White, and The Devil's WhoreThe magic of the film comes from Harry Potter and Paddington producers David Heyman and Rosie Alison.

The Secret Garden starts when Mary Lennox's parents suddenly die, and she is sent to live with her uncle, Archibald Craven, on his remote country estate deep in the Yorkshire moors. While exploring, she discovers a hidden, magical garden.
