There’s a new series in town (OK, there are a bunch of new series really) on FOX, but this one touches on the Terminator franchise, called The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
The premise of the show picks up the time line between the second and third movies, with Sarah and John on the run as fugitives from the law and hiding from any Terminator that may happen about, and of course, they do! I mean face it, it’s a terminator franchise, and not having a termi-bot or two running about would be ridiculous.
The premise for 'The Sarah Connor Chronicles" is going to be a tricky development of plot. I can see the possibilities and limitations, with the end goal of movie 3 in sight while the show writers put their mojo on the experiences of Sarah and John after movie 2, on the run.
Sarah will be played by Lena Headey, John will be played by Thomas Dekker, and there will also be Summer Glau & Richard T. Jones in other roles.
Executive producers Josh Friedman (“War of the Worlds”), David Nutter (“Supernatural,” “Smallville”) and C2 Pictures (“Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines”) bring this to our tubes. This should be interesting to see if this keeps the franchise exciting, or be a flop of a TV adaptation.
BUT as far as hinting at things for T4 or an upcoming Terminator movie, we might be waiting until a little legal mess is cleared up with the 'rights holders' Halcyon Co. and its principals, Victor Kubicek and Derek Anderson. They've sued MGM, claiming the studio is interfering with their right to negotiate for the distribution of the planned fourth installment of the highly successful series.
