It's a special moment in Real Housewives fandom when the producers get involved. When viewers see producers or security, it typically means something is out of hand and they need to protect those involved. However, fans can't deny how dramatic things get when producers break the fourth wall and get involved.
Breaking the fourth wall means that the veil between the viewer and the show has been broken. The entrance of a camera or producer drives the notion home further that something is serious enough that it requires more attention. Over the years, production has stepped in on various franchises to make their presence known and each is more dramatic than the next.
The Reunion Fight Between Porsha And Kenya (RHOA)
Porsha and Kenya had their issues in season 5 and it trickled into the season 6 reunion. Both women accused each other of cheating on their partners but things escalated when Kenya pulled out her microphone and began chanting at Porsha.
Porsha had enough, grabbed Kenya's hair, and dragged her to the floor. Kenya popped up and walked off stage but Porsha was held on the ground by producers and castmates as she began to sob from embarrassment.
Heather Didn't Want To Work With Kelly Anymore (RHOC)
In 'Something's Fishy' Kelly Dodd explodes at the table over things said behind her back. She felt lied to and that people weren't being real. In a classic Kelly Dodd tyrant moment, she exploded at Shannon and Tamra and called them horrific names.
Heather had enough of Kelly's behavior and stormed away from the table. She reminded everyone that they were mature women who shouldn't be speaking that way, which bothered Kelly even more. One fan said they could hear Heather arguing with the producers about not wanting to work with Kelly anymore as she left the dining room.
Denise Was Done With Bravo In Italy (RHOBH)
In Denise's second and final season on RHOBH, she had a meltdown in Italy over lies spread about her and Brandi Glanville. She showed up to dinner in good spirits but quickly changed her attitude and told everyone off. After her speech, she stormed out of the restaurant, uninterested in what the other women had to say.
However, instead of letting Denise walk away, a producer named Chris stopped her. Over the mic, viewers could hear him encouraging her to go back into the restaurant. Chris could be seen saying "You can't come in here, and make a big speech like that, and then not hear anybody else's opinion." Due to the producers, Denise had no choice but to go back inside.
The Fight Between Kenya And Tammy's Nephew Was Deplorable (RHOA)
In season 8 of RHOA, the ladies traveled to Miami and were enjoying an evening at home. Tammy brought her nephew and a few of his friends with him, but that turned out to be a bad idea. Kenya was getting weird vibes from Tammy's nephew all evening and asked for him to leave. He began walking towards Kenya, cursing at her, which is when producers and security had to get involved.
It got worse when he pushed his aunt to the side and she flew across the room, knocking herself unconscious. It was one of the scariest moments on RHOA. Kenya even feared what would have happened if security and producers weren't there.
The New Jersey Hair Pull (RHONJ)
In season 10 of RHONJ, Teresa Giudice was Danielle's only friend. It was clear to viewers that without Teresa, Danielle wouldn't be on the show, and her presence was clearly orchestrated by production.
In one scene, the ladies meet at a local boutique to go shopping but the energy changes when Danielle walks in. She and Margaret begin arguing with each other and it takes a turn when Marg empties her water bottle on Danielle's head. In return, Danielle walks back over to Margaret and pulls her ponytail towards the ground. Margeret was screaming for help as producers and security tried breaking it up.
Brandon And Apollo Ruined Pillow Talk (RHOA)
In the sixth season, the women of Atlanta had a themed party where all the ladies and their men could talk some of their issues through. Kenya brought her friend Brandon for backup as she seemed to be the center of the arguments.
After a while, Kenya got up and walked towards Natalie, which appeared threatening. The men soon got involved against Brandon and he was soon attacked by Apollo and Chris. Production had no choice but to enter the scene because of how aggressive the fights became.
The Boat Ride From Hell (RHONY)
In the 10th season, the ladies took a little boat ride while on vacation in Colombia. When a storm comes earlier than anticipated, the staff urged the ladies to hurry on the boat so they could get home safely. However, the storm made the water choppy to the point where the ladies felt unsafe.
Things got worse when everyone smelled smoke coming from the boat. The ride was so dangerous that there were clips of production hiding on the floor of the boat to remain safe. They later had to put down their cameras because it was too dangerous to keep filming.
Monique VS. Candiace (RHOP)
Monique and Candiace's relationship only seemed to get worse in the most current season. When the ladies were enjoying wine, the two couldn't help but throw a few jabs at each other. But it took a dark turn when Monique flicked Candiace's hair.
From there, jabs were thrown and hair was pulled. Producers could be seen scurrying around the area to not only break up the fight but to film too. It was a scary evening for everyone involved.
Vicki Needed A Peptalk During The Reunion (RHOC)
In the season 14 reunion, it felt like it was Vicki against the world. When the ladies were taking a break, Vicki and Andy got into an awkward discussion, which soon led to a producer escorting Vicki off stage.
She didn't understand what was happening but it was explained that she wouldn't be on the reunion for the last segment. Backstage, she goes on a tangent to producers about "starting" the Housewives franchise and deserving more from the show than the title of "friend." The last image is her cursing at production while slamming the door.
Wine Glasses Were Thrown (RHONJ)
When the ladies traveled to Cabo for vacation, Danielle—once again—battled with the ladies. Margaret drew the line when Danielle began talking badly about her children.
She threw some wine in Danielle's face and walked away from the table. As soon as Danielle stood up with her empty wine glass in hand, production stepped in and tried to hold her back.
