As the new trailer for Iron Fist reminded us today, we're just one month from the final member of The Defenders coming to Netflix. Following Danny Rand's March debut, Marvel's street-level team-up is set to air sometime in the summer. We'll likely have a precise date after the release of Iron Fist, but there's one more show on the docket this year that's yet to be announced. The Defenders looks to feature just about every character that's still alive (or undead) in the Marvel/Netflix universe, save Frank Castle. While he could still appear in a small cameo that's being kept under wraps, we imagine Marvel is simply making fans await his own solo show.

The Punisher is currently filming and should wrap in time to premiere this year as planned. While that could always change, there's still plenty of time for it to be released sometime late in the fall or early in the winter like Luke Cage and Jessica Jones were. As we await an exact release date, many fans are holding themselves over with casting announcements and various set photos. Thanks to a fan or crew member of the series, we now have a better idea of what Frank will be up to in his one-man war against crime.

First discovered by MCU Exchange, we've now got a look at a batch of new set photos showing Frank tussling with the police and stealing one of their cars. What makes the Punisher desperate enough to pull a move like that? Your guess is as good as ours at this point.

Jon Bernthal looking serious as The Punisher

The images may not offer much, but they certainly detail the state Frank is in during the show. Despite having what appears to be a team assisting him, he still looks to be acting like a lone wolf. All the shots appear to be from the same scene, so Frank somehow goes from chucking a brick and fighting with a cop, to stealing the officer's squad car and taking it somewhere. In between that, he does a sweet jump over the car's hood and spends the rest of the scene striking various cool poses.

Given the quality of the images and the fact that Jon Bernthal is smiling at the camera in one, these could be official set photos that were simply leaked. Either way, they highlight some of the key aspects of Castle's personality, which Bernthal have said resonate with him. Like the other Marvel/Netflix series, the show looks like it won't be pulling any punches, further proving the world of the Defenders is perfect for the streaming service. We'll continue bringing you news on the series as it arrives, so stay tuned.
