The Illuminati, the Freemasons, and a few other groups are just a few of the organizations that films have grabbed onto to help make captivating stories about people that want to rule the world. The newest group is seen in Netflix's recent release The PentaverateFour men and one other person collectively create the satiracly-inspired The Pentaverate.

The series has an all-star cast with actors like Mike Meyers, Jennnifer Saunders, and Ken Jeong having prominent roles. For most of the cast, while they play their roles in The PEntaverate well, they are more recognized for other roles they had before they were in The Pentaverate.

Neil Mullarkey - Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery (1997)

Available to rent on Apple TV

Neil Mullarkey as Quartermaster clerk

Neil Mullarkey quickly became a sensation in The Pentaverate despite the fact that he didn't say a word. The unique character was one of Neil Mullarkey's bigger roles. This isn't the first time that Mullarkey and Mike Meyers have worked together.

They both acted in Austin Powers: International Man Of MysteryMullarkey did have a smaller role in the movie, but he still made an impression that fans remember fondly as he freaked out Austin at the item return. He is more known, though, for being one of the founding members of The Comedy Store Players.

Debi Mazar - Entourage (2004-2011)

Streaming on HBO Max

Vince and Shauna from Entourage

Patty Davis is the executive assistant to the Pentaverate, and she makes it look easy. Her calm, cheerful, and friendly nature, combined with her 80s look makes her seem as though she'd be a great friend to have in real life.

Having a role as an assistant is nothing new for actress Debi Mazar. Her role as Shauna, who is Vince's publicist in the show Entourage, one of the best HBO comedy series, gave her the freedom to take on the role however she wanted. While her character's personality is seemingly different in The Pentaverate is different than that in Entourageshe still holds the same powerful woman role and has made a name for herself over the years.

Lydia West - Year And Years (2019)

Streaming on HBO Max

Lydia West as Bethany in Years and Years

Lydia West is still a fairly new actor, so her role as Reily Clayton was monumental. Playing Clayton showed she could be a dynamic character that could handle being at the forefront of a show and hold her own while working with big names like Mike Meyers.

Even though she is still working on getting her name out there, she can be seen in the 2019 HBO drama Years and Years, where she plays the older daughter, Bethany, of Stephen and Celeste. She is a force to be reckoned with in both shows as she constantly finds ways to stand out with her excellent, emotive expressions and line delivery.

Jennifer Saunders - French And Saunders (1987-2005)

Streaming seasons 1-5 on Amazon Prime Video

French and Saunders

Having actors play more than one character happens a few times in The Pentaverate, and Jennifer Sanders gets the pleasure of being able to play two, the Maester of Dubrovnik and the Saester of Dubrovnik. The Maester of Dubrovnik, a forensic scientist, has two assistants she commands around, and her comic sense of authority makes her one of the most memorable characters on the show.

Jennifer Saunders' decades of comedy experience, stretching back even earlier than French and Saunders, make it no surprise that her characters have the timing and charisma of a seasoned on-screen comedic presence. Comedy is clearly her strong suit, and while there have been times she's ventured into more dramatic roles, she's hard to beat when it comes to laughs.

Gregory Hoyt - Klaus (2012-2017)

Not available for streaming

gregory hoyt in klaus as klaus

While Gregory Hoyt has been acting for a while, his role as the MENTOR has helped him gain more fame than most of his previous roles. Taking on the role of an AI program that turned into a villain shows just how well Hoyt can embody a character, even one with a vulgar and obnoxious personality.

While he has had minor roles in films like Rampage and J. Edgar, he has taken on the role of the main character, Klaus, in the TV series Klaus. It may not be well-known, but the comedy series follows the inner monologues of the awkward and curious young man, and the fourteen episodes came out over the span of five years, which is rather unorthodox.

Rob Lowe - Parks And Recreation ( 2009-2015)

Streaming on Peacock

Chris Traeger smiles in a shirt and tie on Parks and Recreation

It's not often that actors get to play themself in a role, but this was the case for Rob Lowe in The Pentaverate. He is seen as one of the announcers for the secret society and has the same jovial, positive, selling attitude fans often see him having.

Lowe is one of the actors in the series that doesn't have a huge role, but he is instantly recognizable. Many fans know him from his role as Chris Traeger on Parks and Recreation, where his improvised "pep talk" is still one of the best moments in the show. The show gave him the coined positive, and healthy personality that Traeger worked hard for, but his more serious, and selling side came from his time on The West Wingwhich is another show he is well-known from.

Jeremy Irons - Watchmen (2019)

Streaming on HBO Max

Adrian Veidt in Watchmen show

From viewing the trailer, it's not obvious that the show would have a narrator, but it does, and it's done by Jeremy Irons. His deep, authoritative voice adds an extra layer to the comedic feel the show already exudes.

Irons is known for having roles in classic plays, as well as playing characters like Alfred in Justice League. More recently he took on the role of Adrian Veidt in HBO's WatchmenThe role allowed him to show off his classical theater training as Veidt's character was extremely refined, sophisticated, and aged to perfection. Irons' may not have a lot of voice acting under his belt, but his voice is becoming easier to recognize with time.

Keegan-Michael Key - Key & Peele (2012-2015)

Streaming on Hulu

Key & Peele sketch

Although Keegan-Michael Key is only in half of the episodes of the show, his character Dr. Hobart Clark makes an impression that is impossible to forget. Clark is witty, smart, and although a little reluctant to help The Pentaverate, he ends up giving in, only to reach his demise shortly after,

Having an extensive resume filled with both voice-acting and acting roles over the years, Key is a well-recognized actor. There are many things he may be known for, but his comedy series Key & Peele is definitely the most widely known and succesful. Key and Peele is Comedy Central's best sketch show, and Key's impeccable comic timing serves him equally well in The Pentaverate.

Ken Jeong - Community (2009-2015)

Streaming on Netflix

Chang wearing a mariachi hat in Community.

Joining The Pentaverate as a replacement for Clark is Ken Jeong's character, Skip Cho. As a person with extensive knowledge in the chaos theory of weather patterns, he may not be the most qualified for the position, but he's who the group chooses.

It comes as no surprise when Jeong's character is both intelligent and hilarious all at once on-screen. He is a licensed physician, comedian, actor, and writer and there seems to be nothing that he can't do. Like Key, he always brings the right level of humor to each character, and while he has been acting for a while, it's his role as Ben Chang on Community where people began to know Jeong and his irreverant acting style.

Mike Meyers - The Austin Powers Movies

Available to rent on Apple TV

Mike Myers as Austin Powers

Just about every main character in The Pentaverate is played by the famous Mike Meyers. He takes on the role of eight different characters throughout the series. Meyers is an actor that is familiar to many for a variety of his roles, but there is no doubt that he is most well known for his role as Austin Powers and Dr. Evil in the three Austin Powers movies.

Playing both the hero and the villain in the franchise was quite the role, but it showed his range in acting, even though both characters had some similarities. Being able to play multiple characters in Austin Powers clearly helped the actor embody the diverse personalities that he portrays throughout The Pentaverate.
