Pam from The Office is one of the most rational and normal characters on the show. This isn’t a bad thing as it helps ground the show and give it a through-line throughout the series. Her relationship with Jim is also one of the most compelling things about The Office for many fans. While Pam can be one of the most normal and sensical characters, she also has her moments of acting rather shamelessly and unabashedly. She can be at times mean or even a bit stuck up, so she’s definitely not a perfect character by any means.

Here are the ten most shameless things that Pam ever did.

HOW SHE TREATED ERIN

One of the weirdest things about Pam is how much she dislikes Erin. While Erin is definitely rather naive and not always that great at her job, Pam seems to resent her more than is normal.

It seems like she has some sort of jealousy over Erin taking her old job, even though Pam didn’t want that job anymore and wanted to move up the ranks of the Scranton branch. She is rather cool to her at times, and it seems a bit unfair how she acts toward her.

SHE DOESN’T TRUST IN HERSELF ENOUGH

One of Pam’s biggest flaws is that she never has a lot of confidence in herself. She doesn’t trust her instincts or follow her wishes or needs at all. This is why it takes her so long to get out of a horrible relationship with Roy and start to try to do things for herself like go to art school.

The fact that she doesn’t even trust in herself or push herself to go out of her comfort zone is one of the most frustrating things about her when watching the series.

WHEN SHE HAD DWIGHT DESTROY HIS OWN PHONE

The pranks that Jim, and often Jim and Pam, pull on Dwight are sometimes rather funny. While some of them are relatively harmless such as putting a stapler in Jello, there are definitely times when the pranking goes too far, and it’s not just Jim who can be shameless about these pranks.

When Pam sends Dwight on a fake CIA mission, she sends him a message to have him destroy his own phone. Having someone destroy personal property during a prank is definitely not cool.

NOT FOLLOWING THROUGH WITH ART SCHOOL

Another extremely frustrating moment in Pam’s character arc on The Office is when she ends up dropping out of art school. After finally getting up the courage to move to New York City and enroll, she ends up failing classes and needs to retake them.

Instead of following through with this, she basically quits so she can stay and marry Jim. She doesn't seem to see anything wrong with this, and it’s a shame to see her not try harder to achieve something she’d always wanted to do.

MAKING HER COWORKERS FOLLOW LOTS OF RULES WHEN SHE WAS PREGNANT

One of the most annoying things about Jim and Pam is how they can sometimes think they’re better than their co-workers. They tend to think they deserve special treatment, and they can be rather demanding.

One example of this that’s the most egregious and shameless is when they ask their co-workers to not eat certain foods or wear certain perfumes while Pam is pregnant. It seems like a rather ridiculous request to ask everyone around you to alter their routine when they are listing out so many rules.

NOT BEING UPFRONT ABOUT ABOUT HER FEELINGS FOR JIM

The relationship between Jim and Pam is one that builds over the seasons, but Pam has a hard time being open about her feelings.

She often goes back and forth with how flirty she is with him, and she rejects him and then wants to be with him. The way she can’t just own up to wanting to be with Jim and be more courageous about this is really frustrating to watch. She definitely gets in her own way many times.

GETTING BACK TOGETHER WITH ROY

One thing Pam does that doesn’t get talked about enough as being rather unashamed and ridiculous is when she gets back together with Roy. She breaks off their wedding and then gets back together with him mostly in response to Jim dating Karen.

However, this is a totally terrible move. Roy was a bad boyfriend who tried to control what she did, didn’t support her goals, and mostly was just selfish and distant. It’s clear he wasn’t who she should be with, so getting back together with him was really shameless.

FORCING DANNY CORDRAY TO SAY WHY HE DIDN’T CALL HER FOR MORE DATES

While Jim and Pam definitely have times where they can be endearing, they also have many times where they are shameless and a little insufferable. One of the moments that made audiences cringe was when they keep badgering Danny Cordray to say why he never called Pam back.

There’s no reason for them to do this, and it's’ super awkward to watch. It’s just one example of how self-absorbed this pair could be.

LETTING MEREDITH TAKE THE BLAME FOR SPREADING LICE

The Office Meredith Shaves Her Head

During the final season of The Office, Pam is at her lowest. Her marriage to Jim is falling apart, and she’s clearly suffering while she tries to take care of their kids mostly on her own. Jim doesn’t treat her super well during this time, and she’s exhausted.

However, this doesn't excuse how she treats Meredith. When Pam gets lice from Cece and spreads it to her co-workers, she lets Meredith take the blame and even shave her head. She doesn't even admit things until she’s caught.

LYING ABOUT BEING OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

Of all the shameless things that Pam does, this one might be the absolute worst. She claims that she was given an office administrator position, even though she wasn't, and straight-up lies to Gabe about it.

She manipulates the situation so that he basically gives her the job even though he knows she's lying. The fact she would lie and feel no qualms about doing so is pretty messed up.
