The Office is full of inappropriate characters who do things that are wildly unacceptable in a professional environment. Characters such as Micahel, Meredith, Creed, and Dwight, just to name a few, do some really out of line things throughout the series. Dwight is one character who is extremely eccentric and who does a lot of inappropriate things. Many of these things happen while Dwight is at work but not all of them do.

While Dwight has done many inappropriate things, these are some of the most inappropriate of them all.

Always trying to spy on Jim and plot to get him fired

Jim was always playing pranks on Dwight and many of these weren’t very appropriate either. However, Dwight was an extremely rude and unprofessional coworker, so some of this is understandable, and Dwight wasn’t always innocent.

There were multiple times where he planned schemes to try to get Jim fired. While he didn’t like Jim, this wasn’t an excuse to try to get him sacked.

Taking the snowball fight with Jim too far

Jim and Dwight from The Office comedy series.

Dwight is someone that wasn’t very good at being logical or using social skills. He often overreacted to things and took revenge way too far. When Jim threw a snowball at him, it definitely wasn’t a nice thing to do.

However, instead of just briefly retaliating, Dwight went all out with trying to get back at him. This entire prank might have seemed funny, but it definitely crossed the line and was inappropriate for the workplace.

Trying to use “gaydar” to figure out who was gay in the office

Dwight could be extremely judgemental and bigoted in his worldview at times. He definitely wasn’t very progressive when it came to things like women’s rights and LGBT issues.

He was rather homophobic at times, and one of the biggest examples of this is when he tried to find “gaydar” so that he could figure out who in the office was gay. This obviously doesn’t exist but the fact that he was so worried about seeing who wasn’t straight wasn’t a problem.

The time he cut the face off of the CPR dummy

Many of Dwight’s most inappropriate moments occurred while he was actually at work. He ended up costing Dunder Mifflin a lot of money in property damage, and he could easily have gotten sued so many times.

When the CPR class was held at the office, Dwight destroyed the expensive medical dummy by cutting its face off. This was both really creepy and also the destruction of property that wasn’t is, and he definitely should have been fired for this.

Destroying Jim and Pam’s kitchen while Pam was giving birth

While Jim and Dwight might not have been friends, there are some things that you just shouldn’t do to anyone. Destroying someone’s kitchen in an attempt to remodel it without their permission is one of those things.

While Dwight might have thought he was helping them out, he did something that wasn’t his right to do, and this isn’t to mention he did this while Pam was giving birth. This means that Jim and Pam came home with their newborn baby to a house that was in the middle of an intense remodel.

Putting together the fake, but also dangerous, fire drill

Dwight smugly heats a door handle with a blowtorch on The Office.

This is another example of Dwight thinking he was helping out when he was actually doing something really unacceptable. While Dwight might have considered himself a Safety Officer, he was usually the one putting others in the office at risk. During his fake fire drill, he ended up causing everyone to panic and probably get minor smoke inhalation.

This also causes property to get destroyed and also gives Stanley a heart attack because of the stress. This is another instance where he definitely should have been fired.

Trying to tell the women of the office how to look and act

Dwight could be extremely sexist at times, and this would come out in many different ways. It’s clear he thought that women were secondary to men and that men should have positions of power. He also would make comments about women being on their periods and about how they looked.

He would judge women on their appearance and make comments about their sex lives. He also at one point told the women of Dunder Mifflin to cover up so they wouldn’t get sexually harassed.

Taking a loaded gun into Dunder Mifflin

Of all of the inappropriate things that Dwight did while at the office, maybe the worst was when he took a loaded gun into work. This put everyone around him at risk and was completely dangerous.

He accidentally let the gun go off which affected Andy’s hearing, but the damage could have been much worse if he’d actually shot someone. While Dwight was none for leaving weapons around the office, this was even worse than normal.

When he killed Angela’s cat

The Office

Dwight was definitely not always a good boyfriend. While at times he could be surprisingly caring, there were other times where he was rude and inappropriate.

The worst thing he did to Angela was when he killed her cat. While the cat might have been old and quite sick, it wasn’t his place to decide to put the cat out of her misery. On top of that, he then lied to Anglea about it.

His multiple affairs with Angela and how often they slept together in the office

Dwight sleeping with angela – the office

Dwight and Angela were both rather horrible people when it came to having affairs. They were sleeping together when Angela was with Andy and then again when she was with Senator Lipton.

Not only is this just a horrible thing to do, but they also took being inappropriate even further by often sleeping together in the office. They would often even sleep together while they were both working.
