Todd Packer is a terrible human being. The traveling salesman has been an employee in The Office since before the series began, which is extremely surprising given the fact that he is the most inappropriate person to have ever walked on Earth.

Early on he was shown as the embodiment of Michael Scott’s naivety, with his sexist and demeaning comments being consistently perceived not only as fine but as really cool. Although despicable, the hilarity lies in how unaware of his flaws Packer is. The result is an extensive list of terribly awkward, hysterical episodes.

S1E01: Pilot

In the first few scenes of the show, the audience is introduced – by phone – to this work friend of Michael, and his very first lines are all completely not okay. After calling Michael “big queen” and Jan (his boss) “Godzilary,” he goes on to share an intimate thought of his: he wonders if Jan’s “carpet match the drapes.” Of course, Jan was right next to Michael listening to everything.

S2E02: Sexual Harassment

This episode’s whole reason for being is due to Packer’s indecorous ways. After spreading out a rumor about the CFO, the whole office has to undergo anti-sexual harassment training.

He crossed the line badly when he made jokes about Phyllis's appearance – after which Michael cowardly punished Kevin for listening instead of Packer for telling the joke.

S2E10: Christmas Party

Taking into consideration all of his bad deeds, this one is not terrible, but still completely frowned upon in any working environment. At the first Christmas party of the show, Packer wears a sprig of mistletoe over his crotch, gets even drunker than he already was, and passes out.

S2E14: The Carpet

Sure, pranks are very common in Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton office. But when Packer leaves some stinky bodily fluid in Michael’s office, it wasn’t really funny.

It just caused a lot of trouble for the warehouse guys, who had to clean it, and to Michael, who spends the rest of the episode trying to find out who desecrated his carpet.

S3E12: Back From Vacation

A lot of lines were crossed on this episode: Michael goes to Jamaica with his boss, Jan. After telling Packer that he had the trip, Packer shows disbelief. Michael then emails a photo of him and Jan (face down, wearing a bikini) to prove it, only to send it to the packaging department instead. Soon, everyone knows – and it all started at Packer.

S3E14: Ben Franklin

If it wasn’t simply terrible to hit on Karen Filippelli as soon as he met her in front of her boyfriend, Packer also suggested a stripper for Bob Vance’s bachelor party.

When questioned if that wouldn’t go against the sexual harassment rules, his solution is to get Phyllis to get a male stripper for her wedding shower too.

S6E19: St Patrick’s Day

With a very inappropriate phone call, Packer invites Michael to a St. Patrick’s Day celebration at a pub. He says that all the women around look “fat and ugly,” so Michael has a real chance of hooking up. When the other employees finally arrive at the bar, he starts humping Michael, and Meredith starts humping him.

S7E6: Costume Contest

Jim and Pam are confronting an ex-date of hers who never called her back in the break room. Then, someone asks: “are you looking for someone to bang your wife?” That sentence would be too much in most situations, but it gets a lot worse when it is uttered by a coworker who was not even a part of the conversation, dressed up as a paunchy nun. Of course, we are talking about Todd Packer.

S7E18: Todd Packer

When Michael introduces Holly, his soon-to-be-wife, to Packer, her reaction is not what he expects. She doesn’t see Packer as Michael’s super funny BFF. Instead, she sees him for what he is: a jerk. After he jokes about Kevin’s weight, calls his own daughter a “b****”, Packer openly insults Holly.

That’s what it takes for Michael to just let Packer drive to Florida after getting a fake promotion schemed by Jim and Dwight. When he drives off, Michael is finally free from one of the most toxic friendships of all time.

S8E15-18: The Florida Arc

But he didn’t go away for good! Packer returns to the series in season 8, where he is seen in Tallahassee working for Sabre – then owner of Dunder Mifflin. Over four episodes, Packer duels with Dwight for Nellie Bertram's attention, as she is the president of special projects. He is seen flirting terribly, vomiting on Gabe’s suit, pretending to be a sexual predator at the store opening... Finally, he gets the position of Vice President that Dwight wanted – only to be terminated immediately after.

S9E17: The Farm

In his late appearance in the series, Todd seems to be redeemed. He shows up at the office apparently sober and, out of goodwill, hands out a delicious cupcake to every employee. Unsurprisingly, all the cupcakes have some sort of laxative, hallucinogenic, or both. Even though it is a terrible thing to be done, it did cause a memorable psychedelic trip for Andy and Kevin, in one of the funniest scenes ever.
