Out of all the sitcoms in TV history, The Office has managed to become one of the most iconic. The mockumentary is full of episodes that have aged poorly, but as a whole, it's still beloved by viewers. Because of its massive success, it's a permanent staple of pop culture despite being off the air for almost a decade.

The Office has become the source of one-liners that are a part of everyday conversation. Even those who haven't seen the series are familiar with the memes and references that continue to float around the web. And no matter how much time passes, each character has at least one unforgettable scene that viewers continue to associate them with.

Kelly Kapoor: When She Claimed To Manage Her Own Department

Kelly Kapoor with her hand on her chest at her desk in The Office

The number one thing Kelly is known for is talking. Her co-workers tend to avoid her so they won't get sucked into a never-ending conversation, as most of what she has to say is just word vomit. Others never get a chance to respond, so it ends up being a one-sided discussion.

Her quirks make Kelly one of the funniest characters in the show, but she can get exhausting over long periods of time. She claims that she manages her own department, but Jim mentions that she's the only person in it. To elaborate on her management skills, Kelly says the unforgettable Office quote, "Yes, Jim, but I am not easy to manage."

Andy Bernard: When He Floats Away In The Lake

Andy Bernard floats away in The Office.

Very few scenes can beat Andy falling into the lake and floating away in his blow-up costume. It was difficult not to feel a least a little bad for him, but the humor outweighed it. Andy spent the day aimlessly drifting around the lake and unable to swim to shore.

Angela even hears Andy's cries, but she pretends she can't and leaves him stranded. While Michael is looking for Andy, the camera zooms in on the water behind him, where Andy is flailing his arms and legs. Clearly, the camera crew enjoyed the spectacle, and he doesn't wash up on shore until late at night.

Jan Levinson: When She Ruined The Dinner Party

"Dinner Party" is one of the cringiest episodes of The Office. Thanks to Michael and Jan's passive-aggressive behavior, all of the couples in attendance were extremely uncomfortable. It was clear that Michael wasn't happy in his relationship with Jan, and it's easy to see why.

Jan spends the entire time delivering serious insults in a friendly tone, and the tension in the room can be cut with a knife. The scene in which she plays her assistant's original song and awkwardly tries to dance with Jim is one of her most notable moments. Jan's behavior in the episode has also led to plenty of memes, most of which include Jan pouring or drinking red wine.

Jim Halpert: When He Tested Pavlov's Theory On Dwight

Jim tests Pavlov's Theory on Dwight in The Office.

Jim's experiment on Dwight is actually a scene that psychology teachers often show their students. He demonstrates Pavlov's Theory of Classical Conditioning pretty well, and the experiment's success only makes the prank funnier.

Every time Jim's computer made a certain sound, he offered Dwight an Altoid. He kept it up for weeks, and Dwight became conditioned to associate the sound with eating a mint. One day, Dwight hears the usual noise and sticks out his hand. Jim asks him what he's doing, and Dwight appears confused about why he's suddenly salivating.

Angela Martin: When She Prepared For A Headache

Angela Martin prepares for a headache with pain killers in The Office.

A picture of Angela opening a bottle of pain relievers continues to swim around social media. It's mostly used as a reaction picture when someone is preparing for something they don't want to do, which is relatively close to the scene's actual context.

There's never a peaceful day at Dunder Mifflin, and most of the employees are used to the chaos. When Angela takes the medicine, she tells the camera that she doesn't have a headache, she's just preparing for one.

Stanley Hudson: When He Said, "Did I Stutter?"

Stanley Hudson looking towards someone in The Office.

Stanley Hudson is one of the most relatable characters in the show when it comes to his work ethic, and he spends each day waiting for it to be over. The rest of the employees always have some kind of reaction to Michael's absurdity, but Stanley refuses to even give him the time of day.

Michael attempts to get Stanley to interact with the group, but he just continues to do his crossword puzzle. When Michael is persistent, Stanley yells the famous quote, "Did I stutter?!" It was an incredibly disrespectful thing to say to his boss, but it's Stanley's most well-known moment.

Dwight Schrute: When He Simulated A Fire In The Office

Dwight smugly heats a door handle with a blowtorch on The Office.

There are so many iconic Dwight Schrute moments that it's difficult to choose just one. Dwight cutting off the face of a CPR doll is a close second, but the chaos that ensued when he faked a fire remains one of the funniest scenes in the entire show.

Because no one paid attention to his fire safety PowerPoint, Dwight decides to take a more hands-on approach. The office was destroyed in the midst of the panic, and the stress caused Stanley to have a heart attack. The fact that Dwight didn't get fired for what he did is still baffling.

Erin Hannon: When She Celebrated Holly's Breakup Alongside Michael

Michael and Erin pop champagne and celebrate in The Office.

A gif of Michael and Erin celebrating Holly's breakup can be found all across the internet. Michael pops the champagne and Erin screams and jumps up and down to commemorate the moment.

Erin had even prepared two boxes for Michael—one with a happy face and one with a sad face. She grabs the happy box when she hears the good news and showers Michael in confetti. Erin was genuinely happy whenever Michael was, which made their reaction all the better.

Pam Beesly: When She Won A Dundie At Chili's

Pam Beesly wins a Dundie at Chili's in The Office.

Pam got so drunk on the night of the Dundie's that the bartender had to cut her off. It was an entirely new side of Pam that viewers had never seen before, as she's usually quiet and reserved when she's in the office.

She was overly excited when she won the award for "Whitest Sneakers," and gave a speech where she delivered the iconic line, "I feel God in this Chili's tonight." Pam ends up getting banned from Chili's when she starts to sneak other people's drinks, and her victory scream at the camera is unforgettable.

Michael Scott: When He Did A Safety Training Demonstration On The Roof

Michael Scott does a safety training demonstration in The Office.

Michael Scott's safety training demonstration is perhaps one of the most iconic scenes in sitcom history. After Michael injures Darryl in the warehouse, the office goes through safety training. Michael wants to highlight the importance of mental health, but he goes about it in the wrong way.

Michael stands on the roof and plans to display firsthand how dangerous depression can be. When Dwight asks if depression is just "a fancy word for being bummed out," Michael replies with The Office's most famous line, "Dwight, you ignorant sl*t." Not only is it a weird insult, but it makes absolutely no sense in the context of his performance.
