On The Office, there are a variety of obnoxious characters that make the show so entertaining to watch. Characters with big, eccentric personalities like Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute definitely make the show memorable, but some of these characters are more likable than others. One of the most agreed upon obnoxious characters on the show is Andy Bernard. But, unlike some of the main characters, he’s often less endearing and more annoying.

Here are ten of the most obnoxious Andy Bernard quotes that prove he’s worse than Michael Scott.

10. “BREAK ME OFF A PIECE OF THAT...FANCY FEAST.”

Ed Helms as Andy Bernard on The Office

Andy Bernard is an extremely loud character who likes to act like he knows what’s going on all the time. He’s often breaking into song and seems to pride himself on being aware of pop culture as well as a great actor and singer. However, he often can’t even sing the words to songs right. One of the most hilarious but obnoxious moments is when he tries to sing the jingle to the popular Kit Kat commercials, but he can't remember what product the song is about.

9. “YOU GIVE ME A GIFT? BAM! THANK YOU NOTE...DO NOT TEST MY POLITENESS.”

Ed Helms as Andy Bernard on The Office

One of the most obnoxious things about Andy is that he’s a big kiss-up. He will try to change things about his personality to get his bosses to like him, and he is known as a yes man. This quote is in reference to a weird contest he has with Dwight where he tries to be the most police. This just goes to show how annoying Andy can be as he’s rarely doing anything nice because he’s sincere, it’s usually with some ulterior motive in mind.

8. “ I’LL BE THE NUMBER TWO GUY HERE IN SCRANTON IN SIX WEEKS. HOW? NAME REPETITION, PERSONALITY MIRRORING, AND NEVER BREAKING OFF A HANDSHAKE.”

Ed Helms as Andy in The Office

When audiences first meet Andy, he’s a salesman at the Stamford branch, but he transfers over when the Stamford branch is shut down. His one goal when he first arrives is to get Micahel to like him and to get to be the number two in the office.

This means that he spends most of his time trying to kiss butt and convince Michael to fire Dwight. This definitely doesn’t make him many friends in the branch as Dwight is clearly a better employee.

7. “HEY TUNA.”

Andy In The Office

Another personality trait about Andy from The Office that’s super obnoxious is how he thinks that he’s a lot funnier than he is. He gives Jim the nickname of Tuna because that’s what Jim eats his first day at Stamford. He thinks this nickname is way funnier than it is. This is another thing that makes him more annoying than Michael Scott. Unlike Micahel, he rarely makes friends with anyone but acts overly familiar.

6. “SORRY I ANNOYED YOU WITH MY FRIENDSHIP.”

Andy in The Office

This is a line that Andy says to Michael after Michael gets tired of Andy trying to kiss up to him. This is another obnoxious moment because it shows that Andy isn’t very good at understanding when he’s going too far or being obnoxious. Instead, he often likes to play the victim and act like he had good intentions all along. This quote is extremely passive-aggressive, but at least it makes for a great reaction image that’s rather popular on the internet.

5. “BEER ME THAT DISC.”

Kelly and Andy The Office

Saying the line “beer me” when asking for a beer is rather annoying enough, but of course, Andy has to take things to the next level. When Jim and Andy go to the local high school to apologize for the obscene watermark that was put on some of Dunder Mifflin’s paper, Andy says beer me about basically anything he wants handed to him.

He asks Jim to “beer me that disc,” and it’s clear that Jim is really fed up. It’s definitely an obnoxious thing to say.

4. “CALL ME THE NARD DOG.”

Angela Kinsey and Ed Helms as Angela and Andy in The Office

After Andy punches a hole in the wall of the office, he is sent to anger management. Upon his return, he asks to be called Drew. This is just one example of Andy trying to get people to call him weird nicknames that he changes up often. The most obnoxious and grating nickname that he ever asks to be called however is “the nard dog.”

3. “WHEN I GOT THE NICKNAME BONER CHAMP, THAT’S WHEN I BECAME ME.”

Ed Helms as Andy in The Office

One thing that Andy Bernard never shuts up about is how much he loves his college acapella group, Here Comes Treble. He talks about it so much, and it’s rather pathetic. Andy has been out of college for over a decade, but he seems to think he was some sort of really cool guy in school. However, it’s clear he was mostly just a spoiled, eccentric rich kid. The fact that he’s proud of the nickname “boner champ” is pretty obnoxious.

2. “ANDY BERNARD DOES NOT LOSE CONTESTS. HE WINS THEM. OR HE QUITS THEM BECAUSE THEY’RE UNFAIR.”

Ed Helms, Steve Carell, and Rainn Wilson as Andy, Michael, and Dwight in The Office

This is another example that shows just how obnoxious Andy Bernard’s personality can be. He is someone who has a lot of privileges in life, and he can’t handle losing. This quote definitely illustrates his approach to the world, and it’s part of why he’s so unlikable overall. He’s definitely someone who thinks when he loses in life it’s because things weren’t fair, not because he wasn’t good enough.

1. “I WENT TO CORNELL. EVER HEARD OF IT?”

Andy and Erin talking in the car in The Office

Of all of Andy Bernard’s defining traits, his love of Cornell is one of the most defining of all. He is super proud of the fact that he went to Cornell, and he won’t ever stop talking about it. The best thing about this, however, is that the other employees of Dunder Mifflin use this to make fun of him to hilarious effect, and these are some of the most relatable moments on the show.
