While Jim and Pam are often talked about as being the best couple on The Office, they aren’t the only couple that has a love story that lasts throughout almost the entire series. While Dwight and Angela are both rather eccentric, they do love each other and are rather perfect for each other in many ways. There are definitely times where they don’t treat each other very well, but there are also times when they are very caring towards one another.
Here are the five best things Dwight did for Angela as well as the five best things she did for him.
DWIGHT: WHEN HE TRIED TO MAKE SURE SHE WON THE PAPER AIRPLANE CONTEST
Dwight and Angela go through quite a lot during their on and off-again relationship. They are often with other people, and it takes them a long time to get things right. When things fall apart completely for Angela after her divorce to Senator Lipton, she barely has any money to afford an apartment.
So, when there is a paper airplane contest held by Sabre with a cash price, Dwight tries to rig the contest to ensure Angela gets the money. This shows that even when they aren’t together he still cares about her.
ANGELA: HELPING SABOTAGE ANDY FOR DWIGHT DURING BEACH DAY
Somewhat early on in their relationship, Angela and Dwight are hiding that they have been together. But, this doesn’t stop them from trying to plot together at the office.
During the “Beach Day” episode, Dwight is trying to win the contests so that he can take over the position of Regional Manager from Michael. Angela is very supportive of this, and she does what she can to sabotage the other opponents, especially Andy, to help Dwight win.
DWIGHT: WHEN HE HELPED ANGELA ENJOY HER NUTCRACKER CHRISTMAS
When Angela is head of the party planning committee she plans a nutcracker Christmas themed party that she is really excited about. However, because she’s so rude to other members of the Party Planning Committee, Karen and Pam decide to throw their own Christmas party.
Things turn out for the best when Pam and Karen decide to merge the two parties together. And, to help make things better for Angela, Dwight supports her when she’s upset and then helps her sing Little Drummer Boy on the Karaoke machine.
ANGELA: GETTING HIM THE BOBBLEHEAD OF HIMSELF
In earlier seasons of The Office, Dwight loves collecting bobbleheads to put on his desk. While he has bobbleheads of other characters and people, his most favorite bobblehead is given to him by Angela.
Even though their relationship is still secret at the time, Angela shows that she really does care about him by giving him the perfect gift. The custom bobblehead of Dwight himself clearly makes him really happy.
DWIGHT: ASKING ANGELA TO MARRY HIM
It takes many years and a lot of other relationships and affairs for Dwight and Angela to finally make things official and get married.
Angela wants Dwight to love her and ask her to marry her even though she's scared. So, when Dwight asks her to marry him, in a very Dwight way that involved him using a bullhorn and pulling her over, it’s actually quite perfect. This is clearly something that makes them both very happy, and it's a great moment.
ANGELA: FINALLY ADMITTING THAT DWIGHT WAS HER SON’S FATHER
After Dwight asks Angela to marry him, Angela finally tells Dwight the truth about her son Phillip’s parentage. While she lied to Dwight in the past and told him he was not the father, she finally tells him the truth.
While she definitely should have told him before, it’s clear that she kept this information secret because of her own fears and insecurities, but luckily, she finally owns up.
DWIGHT: WHEN HE SUPPORTED ANGELA AFTER SHE GETS DIVORCED
In season nine, Angela is at her lowest that she’s ever been. After her husband the Senator announces to everyone that he’s gay and that he’s been having multiple affairs, they get divorced.
Angela is left struggling to take care of herself, her cats, and her son. Even though she and Dwight aren’t together, he lends a shoulder to cry ono and keeps her from injuring Oscar like she plans to. He is clearly still looking out for her even though they haven't been in a good place for quite a long time.
ANGELA: GETTING OVER HERSELF ENOUGH TO LET HERSELF BE WITH DWIGHT
Angela is the one throughout most of their relationship who doesn’t want to make things public. She insists that most of their relationship in secret, which is why they are together for so long before most people know. She often keeps herself and Dwight from being able to be truly happy.
So, when she finally lets herself get over that and learn to enjoy life more, this is great for both of them.
DWIGHT: WHEN HE TOOK THE TAX FORMS TO CORPORATE
One of the nicest things that Dwight ever does for Angela happens pretty early on in their relationship. When she forgets to send important tax forms to corporate on time, Dwight drives to New York to drop them off for her.
Even when he is at risk of getting fired for not telling Michael why he was at corporate, Dwight doesn’t reveal their relationship to everyone. Even though Angela might be ridiculous about this, Dwight clearly cares about her a lot.
ANGELA: ALWAYS SUPPORTING HIS EFFORTS TO BECOME MANAGER
For nine seasons of The Office, Dwight is committed to doing everything he can to become regional manager. Angela has always supported him in this quest. She tries to help him come up with plans and execute them, and she believes he would be a much better manager than Michael.
It’s clear that she supports Dwight is even when he’s kind of weird. Clearly, she does care about Dwight in her way.
