The UK Sun has reported that Daniel Craig has been chosen to be the next James Bond, having been offered a three-picture deal by Barbara Broccoli, the current producer of the series.
I mentioned a while back that Craig was one of two finalists for the role. According to The Guardian, Clive Owen turned it down due to his fear of being stereotyped.
I notice the source article does not explicitly mention that Craig has accepted, but I believe a bonafide offer of a three-picture deal is as solid as the word has been in regards to the rumour mill surrounding the next Bond.
Personally I think any of the names floated for the role would do... what I'm hoping is that Casino Royale (the next Bond film) will actually take place in the 1950's or 60's. I think Pierce Brosnan was born to play the role, but for some reason the recent films haven't worked for me within the modern day context.
