Fran Fine is not shy when it comes to fashion, often wearing bright colors and crazy patterns in the form of a mini dress. Not only was Fran a terrific nanny helping all of the kids overcome struggles, but she was also the resident fashion expert.

Whether or not every outfit was a hit or miss, fans of The Nanny have to give her credit for being brave when it comes to her style.  Over the course of the show's six seasons, fans saw the stylish nanny in everything from a dress made out of candy wrappers to an elegant black backless gown. Here are Fran's 5 best outfits and her 5 worst outfits:

Best: Red, White, and Black Combo

Fran is definitely experimental when it comes to her look, but she does have a few tried and true styles that she wears throughout the series. Red, white, and black are one of Miss Fine's winning combination,s and she always looks glamorous and fashion-forward when she wears this color combo. One of the best examples of this is in season 3, episode 18 "Val's Boyfriend" when Fran wears a tight red turtleneck with a black and white checkered mini skirt. This particular outfit is an all-time fan favorite and no doubt every fan went out and bought this outfit for themselves.

Worst: Candy Wrapper Dress

While fans of The Nanny can appreciate Fran's unique taste of style, sometimes she wears dresses that even the most devoted fans do not quite understand. In season 5, episode 20 "The Pre-Nup" Fran wore a mini dress made out of candy wrappers including M&M's, snickers, skittles, and starbursts.

While many would be too embarrassed to wear such an unusual dress, Fran doesn't even bat an eye at the thought of wearing a candy wrapper mini dress. The dress was designed by Jeanette Kastenberg who is known for her quirky pieces. Kastenberg has her own Etsy shop, if any die-hard fans of Miss Fine want to pick up a candy wrapper dress for themselves.

Best: Pink Sequin Gown

Fran showed off her fancier side when in season 1, episode 1 of The Nanny she waltzed down the stairs in her pink sequin gown with the high slit. In true Fran form, she looked beautiful and classy while still showing off her sexy side. While everyone else was in black suits or dresses, Fran stole the show in her attention-grabbing gown. This is the moment fans fell in love with the stylish nanny, as it showed she was not one to be forced to fit in and didn't seem to care what people thought of her or her fashion sense.

Worst: Pink Bridesmaid Dress

Fran is known for her outlandish wardrobe, but sometimes her extreme outfits are not her fault. In season 1, episode 5 "Here Comes the Brood" Fran is forced to wear a fluffy hot pink bridesmaid dress for a family member's wedding. While Fran can typically make any dress look stunning, not even she could make this pink nightmare look fabulous.

The dress was not only a ghastly shade of pink, but it was also accented with bright yellow and even had fake yellow roses sewn to it. With its puffy sleeves and huge skirt, this dress was truly a catastrophe for Nanny Fine.

Best: Little Black Dress

One can never go wrong with a little black dress, especially if you have a hot date with an Italian mobster. Fran showed why she is the nanny with style when she strutted out of the Sheffield mansion in her tight, black mini dress with her red purse in the shape of a heart in season 3, episode 13 "An Offer She Can't Refuse." But fans need not to worry, Fran wasn't cold in her little black dress as she had a tiny cropped coat, that still showed off every detail of the mini dress, to keep her warm.

Worst: Hairy Orange Coat

One thing Fran is known for is her huge orange furry coat that she wore multiple times throughout The Nanny's six-season run. While Miss Fine is known for wearing some questionable clothes, this coat takes the cake. Even Fran cannot pull off the bright orange, Muppet looking coat.

Fans love Fran's animal print suits, but even her biggest fans have to admit her signature animal print did not look flattering next to this orange fluff-ball of a jacket. And when she paired the orange coat with an all-white ensemble, she reminded fans of a creamsicle. But fans of Fran respect her for stepping outside of the box when it comes to fashion.

Best: Animal Print Suit

No one looks more glamorous in animal print that Fran Fine as it's one of her signature looks. One of the best examples of her fabulous head to toe animal print ensembles is in season 5, episode 11 "Rash To Judgment". In this episode, Fran donned a tiger-print coat with a matching tiger print mini dress and even accessorized with a tiger print headband. While Fran looks stylish in tiger print, she is also fashionable in any animal print whether it's cheetah, leopard, zebra, any animal. You name it, Fran can make it look stunning.

Worst: Red Brick Suit

No one has ever taken as many fashion risks as Fran Fine. She has easily been one of the best dressed and most fashionably icon characters of the '90s. But sometimes with risk, there is no reward, and that was the case for everyone's favorite nanny when she wore the red brick suit.

Miss Fine was covered from head to toe in that awful red brick pattern literally, she had the matching hat. Fran has been known to wear wacky patterns before but this one is a whole new extreme for her. But when you're a daring fashionista, not every outfit will be a success.

Best: Wedding Gown

Every fan of The Nanny anticipated what Fran's wedding dress would look like the moment she showed up on the Sheffield's door in her black coat lined with faux fur. In season 5, episode 22 "The Wedding" fans got their wish granted and Fran did not disappoint. Her princess gown of a wedding dress cost $12,000 and included a 4-foot long train as well as a 15-foot long veil. The dress was over top and fans would have it no other way as a nanny as fabulous as Fran could not get married in just any old wedding gown.

Worst: Lime Green and White Ensemble

Fran is not afraid to get a little funky when it comes to her apparel. This was proven in season 4 when Fran wore the lime green swirled with white crop top with matching pants designed by the eccentric designer Betsy Johnson. While Fran always fabulous, this outfit was less than stellar. The green in this ensemble is not the most flattering and the psychedelic pattern is a little confusing. But leave it to Fran to wear a unique Betsey Johnson design around the house, just another Tuesday for this boundary-pushing nanny.
