Screen Rant can exclusively present a first look at the trailer for The Minute You Wake Up Dead, a new thriller from Lionsgate and Grindstone Entertainment Group. Arriving in theaters, digital, and On Demand on November 4, the film is a twist on classic film noir stories that stars Yellowstone's Cole Hauser, Thor: Love and Thunder's Jaimie Alexander, and silver screen legend Morgan Freeman. It was directed by Michael Mailer (Heart of Champions), who co-wrote the screenplay with Timothy Holland.

The Minute You Wake Up Dead follows Russ Potter (Hauser), an investment banker in a Southern town whose bad financial advice led to the loss of large sums of money for several of his clients. Naturally, they are not taking it well, and Russ receives threatening phone calls that wonder, “Where will you be the minute you wake up dead?” Meanwhile, his romance with Delaine Moore (Alexander) involves an insurance scam that ends in murders, and Sheriff Thurmond Fowler (Freeman) is trying to root out the culprits.

More About The Minute You Wake Up Dead

Jaimie Alexander's Delanie is a classic femme fatale, but that doesn't mean Cole Hauser's Russ is a sitting duck. The two are locked in a game of cat and mouse, and perhaps only Morgan Freeman's Sheriff can break the stalemate. But whoever may win for the moment, there are plenty of hungry eyes waiting on the sidelines to collect the dirty money; refusing to bloody their hands until it's absolutely necessary.

The noir thriller is the latest in a line of fascinating and tension-filled Lionsgate releases. Earlier this year also saw the survival drama Fall, and soon horror fans will get to enjoy Prey For the Devil. Those who wish for lighter fare, meanwhile, can turn to the humor and comfort and Kevin Smith's Clerks III. The Minute You Wake Up Dead has a runtime of 90 minutes and is rated R for some violence and language.
