From Gloria Gaynor to The Masked Singer season 8 winner Amber Riley, this season of the show had remarkable contestants. Along with the celebrities on the show, season 8 also included theme nights which made the series so much fun. Panelists got dressed up every week for themes like Vegas Night, TV Night, and 90s Night. After the show upset many fans last season by including Rudy Giuliani as a contestant, the new format revived the series and had fans excited to tune in every week. Season 8 also included two eliminations per episode instead of one like other seasons.

After The Masked Singer fans were underwhelmed with season 7, this season, the show came back stronger than ever with its contestants. Producers steered clear of anyone controversial and stuck to universally loved celebrities. One of the biggest fan criticisms last season was that the contestants weren't recognizable enough. Some of the revealed celebrities include Duff Goldman, Hayley Orrantia, and Jordan Mailata. Luckily, the season did include some contestants fans were excited to see, like Shaggy and En Vogue. Though, none of the contestants on season 7 could compare to the famous faces that appeared on The Masked Singer season 8.

In past seasons, stars like Donny Osmond, Dionne Warwick, Wiz Khalifa, and Lil Wayne graced The Masked Singer stage. For a few seasons, fans were longing for stars of the same status to compete in the series. Fans got exactly what they wanted this season as there were few celebrities that aren't widely known. NSYNC member Chris Kirkpatrick was eliminated early in the season, and every 90s teenager was excited to see him as the Hummingbird. Later, Barry Williams, Christopher Knight, and Mike Lookinland from the iconic 70s sitcom The Brady Bunch were unmasked. However, Gloria was one of the most special contestants of the season because of the impact she's had on Disco and because fans and panelists have wanted her on the show for years.

The Masked Singer season 8 continued impressing fans with its celebrity contestants up until the season finale when Harp took home the masked trophy and was revealed as Glee actress Amber Riley. Harp was arguably one of the most talented contestants to ever compete on the show. It was obvious from premiere night when she debuted with Pink's "Perfect" that she was a front-runner for the season, and many already guessed she would win. Her talent made the season even more exciting. When she took off her mask and confirmed her identity, she became one of the best celebrities to ever appear on the show.

The Masked Singer is always more enjoyable when fans recognize the celebrities behind the masks. While celebrities of all heights of fame are welcome, and The Masked Singer season 8 even included some lesser-known stars, there were still plenty of people who knew the less famous performers. Some fans believe season 5 was the best season, but season 8 is certainly up there. Hopefully, The Masked Singer will take notes on fan reactions and keep including such beloved stars in future seasons.
