It's finally here.The Masked Singer season 3 finale has arrived and with it the unmasking of the final performers. Fans finally have confirmation of the identities of Frog and Turtle, along with the knowledge that winner Night Angel is Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss.
This season has had a lot of amazing performers but both Frog and Turtle have consistently wowed fans week after week. Their styles, however, couldn't be further apart. Frog performed rap hits week after week. Every week brings so much energy and enthusiasm along with some great dance moves. This is surprising because as he pointed out again tonight, he has no formal dance training and had never done choreography before this show. That didn't seem to matter because he proved entertaining week after week and it was enough to carry him to the finale.
The Turtle's path to the finale was paved with amazing performances. With popular ballads, he proved that he's got the vocal chops of a professional singer. Many times he was able to bring both fans and judges to tears. From early in the competition, Turtle was the favorite to win it all. In the end, win or lose, he has been able to prove that he is worthy of his spot on The Masked Singer stage. Even more so, he's proven he deserves a spot on our playlists. So who are these two great performers and fan favorites?
Frog is...
This is one we predicted the rapper from the first time we saw him. The season has been filled with Like Mike references for his hit basketball movie and clues to point to his albums and songs. While it took the judges a while to get there, they got close with Omarion, they finally figured out that it was the CSI: Cyber star. Fans had been waiting for the potentially awkward reveal as Bow Wow and host Nick Cannon had a bit of a feud going about who was the better actor, or at least who made the better movies. It wouldn't be the first awkward reveal for a Masked Singer contestant as there was drama on The Masked Singer Australia when winner Cody Simpson was unmasked. Turns out panelist Linsay Lohan was not so happy about the fact that he had recently dumped her little sister. That was not the case this time though. All appeared to be forgotten as they had a friendly exchange and everyone was sad to see Frog go.
Turtle is...
We predicted the "Beautiful Soul" singer was Turtle since his first appearance. McCartney has a new album coming out and The Masked Singer was the perfect opportunity for him to remind the thousands of now grown-up fans of the former teen heartthrob that he's still an amazing singer. The clues given during the season might have been a little more challenging if it weren't for the fact that fans recognized his voice immediately. Also, we can't be the only ones who are sure we could occasionally see his pretty face behind the mesh. Maybe it was just wishful thinking. Either way, fans are likely all googling his new song timed perfectly to drop today.
Fans are going to miss Frog's moves and are surely sad to see Turtle go but very grateful for an entire season of his singing. With no more celebrities to unmask fans will have to wait for season 4. The show is already working on potential ways to film the next season safely but may end up delayed. The original target to start filming for was August 2020. In the meantime, we will have to make do with rewatching some of the fantastic performances we got to see this season.
