Star Wars' The Mandalorian is one of the hottest properties Disney currently produces and has quickly become one of the highest-rated of any Star Wars movie or television series. The cast portraying the now-beloved characters is one of the show's strongest points, as well as introducing guest stars in each episode. A character that has featured heavily throughout is Cara Dune, a shock trooper for the Rebel Alliance turned mercenary who teams up with Din Djarin to aid in his quest. Gina Carano, an actor known for her roles in the Fast & Furious franchise and Deadpool, played the character for two seasons, before being fired for controversial statements on her social media profiles.

Rather than completely writing the character out of the series, there are several capable actors that could effortlessly jump into the role and portray the character as she has already been established, from personality to physicality.

Michelle Rodriguez

Michelle Rodriguez in Fast and the Furious

Michelle Rodriguez is no stranger to a massive franchise, being a main character in the Fast & Furious films - even having key scenes with Carano herself in the past. Rodriguez also packs both the stuntwork skills and the acting chops to bring Cara Dune to new heights as a character.

She has made a career out of playing tough and serious characters for decades and has the dramatic talent to back her up, as seen in films like Widows.

Stephanie Beatriz

Stephanie Beatriz as Rosa Diaz

A talented comedic actor in both live-action and animation, Stephanie Beatriz portrays fan-favorite character Rosa in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. She could bring some light comedy into the role, easing up on Cara Dune's rough and tough exterior, while also getting to bring Rosa's signature rebelliousness that fans love.

Beatriz knows how to act with an ensemble cast, and with Brooklyn Nine-Nine wrapping up soon, she could slide right into a great new role. She also pulls off the intimidation factor needed for Dune.

Krysten Ritter

Krysten Ritter

Krysten Ritter wowed viewers as Jane in Breaking Bad, a minor character that caused ripples throughout the entire series. She went on to become a household name for Marvel fans when she was cast in Netflix's Jessica Jones. There's no word on if she'll ever return to that role.

Ritter has experience in serious dramas and quirky comedies and could bring an emotional intensity to Cara Dune that may have been lacking before.

Gwendoline Christie

Gwendoline Christie in Game of Thrones

Game Of Thrones star Christie gave a stunning performance as Brienne of Tarth in the series, a role containing strong physical work as well as emotional weight all throughout her time on the show. But Christie has also already been in Star Wars, portraying Captain Phasma in episodes 7 and 8 respectively.

However, the role was minor, and her face wasn't even totally shown, so the possibility of her playing a whole different character isn't completely out of the question. She's already quite familiar with wearing a heavy suit of armor as well.

Carla Gugino

Olivia Crain looks pensive in Hill House

An actor that has been nailing it for decades, Carla Gugino has experience across many different genres. Whether it's comic book action and sci-fi stuff in Sin City, family adventure in Spy Kids, or dramatic horror in The Haunting Of Hill House, she has worked with established filmmakers and actors from all over.

Fans could easily see her donning Cara Dune's armor and guns and owning the screen in a big battle sequence. She may not have played this particular kind of character in the past but she's versatile enough to pull it off.

Adrianne Palicki

Adrianne Palicki in John Wick

Already a seasoned television actor in series like Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and The Orville, Palicki would fit right in on the big-budget Disney television sets. What makes her a great choice for Cara Dune however is her scene-stealing role in John Wick as a killer assassin trying to take down the title character.

Adrianne Palicki has all the right expressions and deadly wits that are needed to bring intimidation to the character.

Megan Fox

Megan Fox

Transformers and Jennifer's Body actor Megan Fox is due for a new lead role, and Cara Dune is a character that Fox could surely step into and make her own. For one thing, she's well experienced acting alongside CGI robots.

Megan Fox can also bring the dark serious tone to Cara Dune that the character needs to stay a tough and resilient fighter. She's also proved her great comedic timing in supporting roles in This Is 40 and New Girl.

Malin Akerman

Malin Akerman

In 2009's Watchmen, Malin Akerman brought the character of Silk Spectre II to life with spectacular action sequences and thought-provoking drama. It showed that she could handle the physical demands of this kind of character.

She's been hilarious in roles in Children's Hospital and Wanderlust, and Cara Dune as a character would fit right into her list of great roles. She could bring warmth to the performance while also staying hardened and vigilant.

Rhea Seehorn

Rhea Seehorn

One of the best actors in television currently, Seehorn is vastly underrated in Better Call Saul as Kim Wexler, a character portrayed with intellect and intimidation, but also vulnerability and sadness.

Her range as an actor is beyond what has already been done with Cara Dune, and Seehorn could evolve the character to contain some of the best acting in the entire series. She would also get to join her BCS co-star Giancarlo Esposito in the sci-fi action fun.

Julia Fox

Julia Fox in Uncut Gems

Julia Fox had her first feature film role in Uncut Gems, opposite Adam Sandler in one of the best thrillers in recent memory. To have such a great film and performance as her introduction to viewers says enough about her talent.

Jumping into the boots of Cara Dune could launch her career into the heights that she deserves. Featuring an up-and-coming actor in a major franchise is what propels most to stardom, and this role could give Fox just that.
