Warning! This article contains spoilers for The Mandalorian season 3, episode 2.The Mandalorian season 3, episode 2 revealed that Din Djarin grew up on one of the moons of Mandalore, Concordia, and raises the question of what the moon is like in comparison to Mandalore itself. While much of The Mandalorian season 3, episode 1 served as a recap for the events of The Mandalorian season 2 and The Book of Boba Fett, its second outing - entitled "Chapter 18: The Mines of Mandalore" - picks up the pace considerably. Din and Grogu make it to the planet Mandalore in order to re-induct Din into the Children of the Watch after the removal of his helmet.

Before landing on the planet, however, Din explains to Grogu that he has never set foot on the world; Mando states that he grew up on a moon named Concordia. This makes sense, given that Concordia played a part in Star Wars: The Clone Wars as the home base of Death Watch, by whom the Mandalorian was rescued and raised. That being said, Concordia has not yet been seen in Star Wars live-action, which leads to the question of what it actually looks like.

Concordia's Landscape Is More Lush & Mountainous Than Mandalore's

Concordian Landscape as seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars season 2

As can be seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars - specifically, season 2, episode 12, "The Mandalore Plot" - Concordia's landscape is much more mountainous in nature than Mandalore. Also, the vegetation and foliage growing show a much more lush environment than Mandalore, which has been damaged over the years of warfare taking place on the planet. The shots of Mandalore in the aforementioned episode of The Clone Wars showcase the barren landscape of the world, a stark contrast to the more alpine environments of Concordia.

Interestingly, the mountains of Concordia suggest tectonic plate activity. As is known from The Mandalorian season 3, episode 2, Mandalore's Beskar mines - from which Mandalorians craft their Beskar armor - are located deep beneath the planet's surface. The Clone Wars, however, shows the mines of Concordia as almost surface level. Given the mountainous nature, it could mean that Beskar is much closer to the surface on Concordia, which enables it to have a different look from Mandalore altogether.

Concordia's Cities Are Reminiscent Of Mandalore's Sundari

Pre Vizsla's home base of the Concordian city in Star Wars: The Clone Wars season 2

Another interesting fact about Concordia's visual style in Star Wars is that the cities are reminiscent of those on Mandalore, especially Sundari. As can be seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Pre Vizsla's city on Concordia is compact, yet with high, block-like buildings akin to Sundari. The city on Concordia is also situated in a valley, close to the Beskar mines as with Sundari - the Mandalorian capital city - which is built above the mines of Mandalore.

One notable difference about Concordia's main city is that it does not have the atmospheric dome that is found on Mandalore's cities. As is known from wider Star Wars lore, Mandalore's environment was ravaged as a result of the millennia of war that raged on the planet. This meant that the desert-like, desolate environment of Mandalore became inhospitable for its citizens without the use of atmospheric domes around their cities or their helmets. As is seen on Concordia though, this is not necessary. It will be interesting to see if Concordia is adapted into live-action as The Mandalorian season 3 continues.
