We’ve got the reality-bending trailer for The Limit, a new interactive VR action film series from filmmaker Robert Rodriguez. Combining Rodriguez’ signature flair for over-the-top violence, imaginative weaponry, and piles of dead henchmen with cutting-edge VR technology and the talents of Norman Reedus and Michelle Rodriguez, The Limit looks to be a uniquely immersive experience — part intense action film, part interactive VR game.

Robert Rodriguez made a name for himself as an action-first filmmaker starting with his “Mexico Trilogy,” a span of classic action movies originating in the self-funded breakout hit El Mariachi in 1992. Since then, his work has spanned multiple genres, like the kid-friendly Spy Kids series, the critically-acclaimed adaptation of Frank Miller’s comic Sin City, and the upcoming Alita: Battle Angel, based on the classic manga by Yukito Kishiro. Aside from his work behind the camera, Rodriguez has also produced and co-produced a number of film projects under his company Troublemaker Studios and launched multiple cross-media ventures, including El Rey Network, a cable television channel which he founded in 2013.

Dubbed as “an immersive cinema experience,” The Limit includes a variety of action film staples, and the trailer is busy with gunfights, high-speed car chases, skydiving, and a plethora of one-liners. As for Reedus, this looks like to be his first time working under Rodriguez.
