Previously unseen footage of Luke Skywalker and Rey in Star Wars: The Last Jedi is currently showing in theaters as part of a pre-show package ahead of any Noovie film in participating theaters. Though The Last Jedi is only a couple weeks away from being released in full, impatient fans are still hungry for every little possibly spoilery snippet of action they can get.

Much speculation has swirled around what will happen with Rey and Luke Skywalker after the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens when they met for the first time on Ahch-To, the isolated world where Luke has been living in self-imposed exile since Kylo Ren blew up his plans to restore the Jedi Order, killing all of Luke's other students in the process. It's clear from the trailers that Rey becomes Luke's new apprentice, and that she goes through trials much like the ones Luke himself experienced while learning from Yoda in The Empire Strikes Back. What's not clear is whether Rey will stay on the path of good, or be seduced over to the Dark Side by Kylo Ren and Supreme Leader Snoke.

A new bit of previously unseen Last Jedi BTS footage is now being screened as part of the Noovie pre-show revealing Luke and Rey on Ahch-To (via Making Star Wars). In the footage, Rey and Chewbacca ask Luke for help, but Luke brushes them off with a terse rejection. “You think that I came to the most unfindable place in the galaxy for no reason at all” Luke utters, clearly still grouchy about the whole Kylo Ren betrayal thing. We know from the trailers that Rey becomes Luke's student, so obviously he lightens up a little after that rocky beginning. We also know that Luke eventually relives his past by stepping foot inside the Millennium Falcon, in a scene that actor Mark Hamill admitted was very emotional. What we don't know is whether the story will bring Luke Skywalker and his sister Leia back together, though director Rian Johnson says their history definitely plays a role in the film.

The key relationship in Last Jedi obviously is the one between Luke and Rey. They've been central to all the marketing thus far (along with Porgs), and clearly Rey's interactions with Luke will be a springboard that launches her story forward, either in a good or a bad direction. Given Luke's poor results with Kylo Ren, it's reasonable to be concerned that Rey might also be headed along the path of darkness.

The new bit of footage may be brief, but folks who can't have enough Star Wars: The Last Jedi in their lives will likely still want to flock out to the theater this weekend give it a look.
