The Kardashians finally aired the family's Variety interview, and the scene proves Kim Kardashian's claims about the context of one of the questions are false. In March, while the family was promoting the first season of their new Hulu series, Kim, Khloé Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, and Kris Jenner did an interview with Variety Magazine. Kim gave some harsh advice to women in business, telling them to get their a** up and work, and fans were outraged. In response, Kim claimed she was already angry because, in the question before, the interviewer brought up the criticism that the family is famous for being famous. However, Elizabeth Wagmeister, who wrote the story, said that question came after Kim's work comments.

Fans got an inside scoop on the Variety interview in The Kardashians season 2 episode 4, and it seems the Variety writer was telling the truth. In the clip, Kim gives her controversial response when asked to give advice to women in business. The question that came before was about what they've learned from each other about being good businesswomen. The famous for being famous question came immediately after. While Elizabeth debunked these claims months ago, Kim's now exposed herself on her own reality series. In the episode, Kris expressed her frustration with people continuously asking questions about why they're famous, claiming no one would criticize Jeff Bezos in the way they've been criticized.

The new episode also deals with the backlash Kim faced for her comments. The Kardashians star claims she had no idea she would be perceived so negatively and never meant to hurt anyone's feelings. Kim expressed that she knows how hard other women work, and she wasn't trying to put them down. In one scene, she talks to Kris about putting out a statement before the public reaction gets any worse. However, Khloé reminds her that people are going to be mean no matter what she says and doesn't think Kim owes anyone anything.

Kim may have thought her initial claims were the perfect cover-up. Unfortunately, she didn't realize that Elizabeth would tell the public the truth. She really didn't realize that the truth would come out on The Kardashians seven months later. While Kim may have been hoping to put the Variety interview drama in the past. The new episode is sure to evoke more backlash from fans. It probably would have been best to leave the situation out of the season altogether. Though, other than the Astroworld Festival tragedies, the famous family typically showcases every moment of their life on the show.

Maybe Kim was misremembering the timeline and really did think the famous question came first. She likely was angered by the question, and maybe this made it hard for her to know when each question was asked. Kim didn't mean any harm with her comments, to begin with, but she really should have thought her answer through before passionately speaking it to the camera. Hopefully, the whole thing will blow over again by the next episode of The Kardashians. Otherwise, Kim might have to make another statement. Though this time, she might want to tell the truth.
