Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker receive a lot of slack over their nonstop PDA, including from The Kardashians star's own kids. Since going public, Kourtney and Travis have branded themselves as an edgy extremely affectionate celebrity couple. Kourtney remains the more quiet and reserved one among her sisters but teases her wild side with her husband. With Travis being the Disick kids' first stepdad, the new family dynamic has been a lot of getting used to.
Kourtney spent two years with her ex Younes Bendjima after her 2015 split from Scott Disick. After spending nearly two years single and just focused on her children, Kourtney found love again with Travis. The romance was a big change for Scott and the Disick kids, Mason, 12, Penelope 9, and Reign, 7. For one, Travis and his three children had been close friends and neighbors of the Kourtney and her kids for years before she and Travis fell in love. Travis went from being a neighbor to the Disick kids' stepdad in two years. Scott has expressed his distaste for Kourtney and Travis dating. As a result, his negative feelings have been rubbing off onto his children.
The new Hulu show has captured the Disick kids' responses to Kourtney and Travis' nonstop PDA after their engagement last October. One episode showed her kids different reactions to her kissing Travis in front of them. "Mom! No kissing," Penelope told her mom after Kourtney embraced Travis at his home, People reports. The kids were enjoying a game of ping pong and Kourtney couldn't keep her hands off her fiancé at the time. "Just one," Kourtney said in response, to which Penelope declared "no." Travis told Penelope and Kourtney "Sorry" before leaving the room. In another scene, Kourtney and Travis shared a kiss in front of Travis's son, Landon 18, daughter Alabama, 16, and stepdaughter Atiana. But Kourtney's youngest Reign was also in the room and issued a complaint. "I'm gonna die, eww guys," he said. "Can you guys not kiss in French again? Can you guys please not French kiss?" Travis complied and told Kourtney, "No French kissing, baby."
Sources have dished out how "overwhelmed" the Disick kids are by the mom's consistent PDA with Travis. "Kourtney and Travis' relationship has been bit of an adjustment for Kourtney's kids," a source told ET. Between the nonstop PDA and heightened media attention, it's a lot for the kids to take in. While Travis's kids don't mind since their older, Kourtney's much younger children are having issues accepting the new family dynamic. With the Disick kids being so loyal to their dad, Scott's dislike of the Kravis craze is impacting how his kids feel about the relationship. Should Scott come around to being supportive f Kourtney being with Travis, the Disick kids might change their tune.
For now, they apparently view Travis more like an older brother than a father figure. Kourtney has a lot on her plate as she works to maintain peace among her big blended family. The Kardashians fans are lucky enough to watch how it all plays out on the new show. Scott is still expressing his resentment. But things could change for the better in the near future.
