Kim Kardashian has expressed that she has no problem having her new boyfriend, Pete Davidson, on her show, The Kardashians, but it seems people close to Pete are against it. Kim has had past significant others appear on her previous show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, so it wouldn't be odd for Kim to bring Pete along. The new Hulu show revolves around the everyday lives of the Kardashian-Jenner family, so it’s only natural to have her boyfriend on it since they spend a significant amount of time together. Pete has already met Kim’s kids and has even spent time with people close to her, like family friend Jonathan Cheban and her sister Kourtney Kardashian's ex-boyfriend and baby daddy, Scott Disick.
Kim’s past partners did not seem to have a problem being on the show, except for her ex-husband Kanye West. Despite being against KUWTK, he made a few appearances anyway. Fans thought Kim would be hesitant about having Pete on The Kardashians, especially after her messy divorce with Kanye, where he even took jabs at Pete and their relationship. However, Kim and Pete made their first public appearance at the Los Angeles premiere of The Kardashians, where she told the press the comedian was just there to support her.
A source told Page Six that people close to Pete do not see the need for him to be on The Kardashians in the future, saying, "His career has taken off, what does he need this for?" The insider also mentioned that Pete's team believes his appearance on the reality shows will eradicate any sense of normalcy for him. "Before he met Kim, no one knew what he was doing," they revealed. Pete’s friends also expressed concern about men who join the family, confirming that careers tend to go south for Kardashian-Jenner partners. "It’s a sure way to kill the relationship," explains the source, adding, "Getting in the show decimates every man."
However, another source told Page Six that this is not true for the comedian. "He feels no pressure to be in the show. Neither do the people around him. If he’s on the show, it happens." Kim even shares the same sentiment. When asked whether Pete will be on the show, the business mogul said, "I have not filmed with him…and I’m not opposed to it. It’s just not what he does. But if there was an event happening and he was there, he wouldn’t tell the cameras to go away."
Hulu recently revealed that The Kardashians is the most-watched series premiere on Hulu in the United States and internationally on Disney+'s Star among their original shows. In an interview promoting The Kardashians, Kim promised fans that the show would answer all their questions about her relationship with Pete, including where they met and who made the first move. Kourtney’s boyfriend, Travis Baker, has been open to being on the series, and fans hope for the same with Pete. Viewers will have to tune in to see how it all pans out.
