The Hills: New Beginnings' newest star Caroline D'Amore revealed that her MTV show will likely get cancelled due to her cast's unprofessional behavior. The rebooted MTV series reunited some of the original cast members alongside some of their favorite childhood friends and significant others. The network decided to reboot their original programming in August 2018 with all of the original cast members except Lauren Conrad, Lo Bosworth and Kristin Cavallari. Since the freshman series received high ratings and positive messaging on social media, the show was renewed for a second season, which premiered in May 2021.

The sophomore season of the series showcased a lot of drama from Brody Jenner's sudden split from Kaitlynn Carter to Jason Wahler's consistent struggle with sobriety to Spencer and Heidi Pratt's frequent display of frustrations with the other cast members. As the show was airing to the public, many reality stars on The Hills: New Beginnings talked to media about their desire to nix the couple off the show after they accused Jason of fake his sobriety and sarcastically suggested that they hope he doesn't relapse. In a rebuttal, Spencer and Heidi talked on their podcast about being forced to film with the worst cast and crew, and campaigned for MTV to green light them their own spin-off series.

In a fan Q&A during her Pizza Girl talkshoplive show, Caroline D'Amore said she believes the third season will remain unwritten, following the end of The Hills: New Beginnings Season 2. "Honestly, I don't know if it's going to get picked up for another season," the reality star said. Caroline explained that as the show was airing, she was quite confident that the third season would get an early green light, but despite "high ratings," there's been radio silence. "I heard through the grapevine that The Hills cast is worse than any other reality show cast when it comes to being able to deal with them, and being high maintenance and obnoxious," Caroline said, adding that she won't reveal her source, but someone close to production insists that the cast is "not fun to work with."

Though Caroline wasn't revealing which cast members her source was referring to, she personally discussed what it was like working with her co-stars Spencer and Heidi Pratt. "It was terrible," Caroline said. "I'm not scared of anybody and I do know that some people, listen, I think that they think they're in a reality show at all times. They don't interact like normal humans." Caroline added that one of her first interactions with Spencer since becoming a cast member was when he accused her of joining the "wrong alliance," referring to her relationship with Kaitlynn Carter. Despite the altercation, Caroline wanted to be on good terms with everyone so she tried to help Heidi get a big brand deal, but was accused by the reality star of setting her up for a prank. "It's a little morphed and sad that they truly believe that everything is just a game," she said.

It's important to note that MTV has neither confirmed nor denied that The Hills: New Beginnings is getting canceled. In fact, the network has been radio silent on the future of the series. Nonetheless, the cast sans Spencer and Heidi still has another celebrity power to carry the show for another season.
