When The Hills premiered in 2006, fans couldn't get enough of the Los Angeles based reality TV show. The series followed Lauren Conrad and her friends through their college years in the city, taking viewers along to experience every dramatic high and low. Unfortunately, Conrad left the show mid-season five and the show only went on for one more season. Luckily for fans, The Hills recently returned with a reboot, The Hills: New Beginnings, where fans got to catch up with some of their favorite reality stars and get to know some new faces.

From 2006 to now, many beloved and controversial relationships have come out of the series. Here are five relationships fans supported in The Hills, and five they didn't.

Supported: Lauren And Brody

Lauren and Brody were definitely a fan-favorite couple. Even though they may have not been best suited for one another, they shared a lot of good moments and had consistently great chemistry on the show.

Brody really seemed to make Lauren happy, he was often the one to encourage her and cheer her up, so it's safe to say that fans were rooting for them from the beginning. Of course, within the last several years it has come to light that Lauren and Brody's relationship was, in fact, fake. Regardless, they're still remembered as one of reality TV's favorite couples.

Not Supported: Heidi And Spencer

Speaking of reality TV's favorite couples, unfortunately, Heidi and Spencer didn't initially make the cut. They were painted to be the villains of the show. Spencer did some questionable things and Lauren was definitely not his biggest fan. Not to mention, many people in Heidi's life questioned if Spencer was good for her.

This ultimately caused a pretty big rift between Heidi and Lauren in season two, which ended up being a consistent and dramatic storyline within the show. Fans never fully supported Heidi and Spencer's relationship knowing it was what broke up Lauren and Heidi.

Supported: Audrina And Ryan

Fans liked to see Audrina and Ryan together simply due to the fact that Ryan treated her right. Viewers had seen Audrina in toxic relationships in the past and she deserved much better. Ryan was sweet, made her laugh and was a great date to events. While this relationship didn't last, fans did get to see Audrina and Ryan together again in The Hills reboot, The Hills: New Beginnings.

This felt very familiar for viewers as Audrina was yet again paired with Ryan after dealing with a not-so-great relationship.

Not Supported: Audrina And Justin Bobby

It's no secret that Justin Bobby was no good for Audrina. In the original series, he was a constant source of drama and often left her in tears. While he did have his redeeming qualities and ultimately seemed like a good guy, Audrina deserved better. It's thanks to all of this that their relationship was pretty controversial and not very supported by fans.

Justin Bobby and Audrina recently gave it another go in The Hills: New Beginnings. The reboot is currently in-between seasons, but it doesn't appear that their relationship is going to pan out this time around either.

Supported: Lauren And Stephen

Stephen wasn't a regular on the show as he was an old flame from Lauren's previous series, Laguna Beach. Stephen made an appearance and rekindled their relationship for a short time during season three of The Hills. The pair seemed to be a great match, Stephen was really likable and good to Lauren. Fans also loved that they had known each other for quite some time and had a history.

While it was fun for viewers to see Lauren get excited about seeing Stephen again, the relationship wasn't built to last and was fairly short-lived.

Not Supported: Lauren And Jason

Lauren and Jason dated for quite some time but they were not a fan-favorite relationship. Many thought that Lauren deserved better as Jason really wasn't good for Lauren. At the time he wasn't nearly as driven as Lauren and was ultimately a distraction. In fact, Jason was the reason that Lauren decided to stay in Malibu for the summer instead of going to Paris for work, which was an incredible opportunity.

Of course, Lauren and Jason's relationship doesn't last and Lauren famously regrets choosing Jason over Paris.

Supported: Heidi And Jordan

When the series first began, Heidi was dating Jordan. While this relationship wasn't super memorable, it is remembered by fans as Heidi's earliest long-term relationship. Jordan was an original cast member of the show back in 2006 and had even gotten Heidi a puppy for Christmas. This relationship was mostly supported because it was pre-Spencer before all of the drama between Heidi and Lauren went down.

Of course, The Hills fans haven't seen much of Jordan in years, considering Spencer has been on the scene for quite some time now.

Not Supported: Brody And Jayde

This relationship was a big source of drama during season five. During this time, Audrina was actually interested in Brody but Brody was with Jayde - for the most part. Jayde was definitely painted to be the villain as most fans rooted for Audrina to end up with Brody and Jayde was often seen as cold. This love triangle was very entertaining, but of course, neither of these relationships lasted.

It didn't seem that Brody was looking for any kind of commitment during The Hills as his relationships were often short-lived.

Supported: Kristin And Brody

Kristin and Brody's relationship was short-lived but fans did like to see the pair together after Kristin became The Hills' new leading lady. However, this was another relationship manufactured by the series as it came out in recent years that Kristin and Brody's relationship on the show was fake, just like his relationship with Lauren.

Kristin also starred on Laguna Beach, so she was no stranger to reality TV. She seemed to fit right in when she took over the show in season five. Of course, fans know that LC will always be the unreplaceable, true star of the show.

Not Supported: Brody And Jen Bunney

Brody and Jen Bunney - The Hills

This was a one-off relationship, but fans definitely did not approve. Jen Bunney started out on the show as one of Lauren's best friends but was quickly cut from Lauren's tight circle when there were rumors that Brody was seeing Jen Bunney. Fans were definitely not okay with this as Lauren and Brody were supposed to be a thing at the time.

Lauren didn't think she could trust Jen anymore so, after quite the dramatic fight, Jen got the boot. Oddly enough, Brody was eventually forgiven.
